Super 60 Spotlight: Matthew Polk
February 1, 2021
On Sunday, Feb. 7, Prep Baseball Report will host the 19th edition of its prestigious, flagship event: the Super 60 Pro Showcase. Since the event’s inception in 2003, more than 300 players have been selected in the MLB Draft, including 22 first-round picks and 25 second-rounders.
We started our our march toward the Super 60 earlier this month, by highlighting the prospects set to join us, shining a light on their impressive player profiles that they've groomed through their high school years and beyond.

Polk may hover just below 5-foot-10 and 150-pounds, but he plays like he's 6-foot-4, 215-pounds. The UCLA recruit gets the most out of his smaller frame, and utilizes his quick hands and strong wrists to drive the ball with some sneaky gap power. Setting up crouched, Polks hands separate with a segmented load back along with a short stride before working noticeably uphill through the zone. He went 2-for-3 in the game that I watched with a double, and his only out was a screaming line drive to centerfield. His energy and ability to consistently find the barrel should make him a fun player to watch progress over the next few years.
