Roc Riggio 2B / OF / Thousand Oaks, CA / 2021

One of the premier players in both the state and the country, Riggio continues to perform at a very high level in big settings. Power is more consistent with his added strength and with a peak exit velo of 101 mph on Trackman during BP, it's easy to see that the left-handed hitting Riggio will continue to develop into a future over the fence power hitter with overall in-game abilities to play the infield (86 mph) and the outfield (92 mph). Riggio was at or near the top of just about every statistical category collected by Blast Motion with 76.7 mph bat speed, 23.9 mph hand speed, and 25.2g rotational acceleration.

Gabe D'Arcy OF / JSerra, CA / 2021

D’Arcy caught everyone's attention out the gate by running a 6.64 laser timed 60. Showed a more consistent approach and feel during BP where he registered a 98mph EV on Trackman and an 82% on plane efficiency on Blast Motion. There’s obvious future over the fence power potential for D’Arcy who has current raw strength, but when the more calculated approach he showed during the game portion becomes more natural he will become a greater overall threat. Defensively his throws were more inline with both the bag and the plate with more accuracy at 85 mph. Showing versatility playing a couple outfield positions during the game. D’Arcy is the highest ranked uncommitted player in the state at #14 in his class.

Jack Holman C / 1B / Etiwanda, CA / 2021

At 6-foot-4 217 pounds Holman is an imposing figure when upright, and he imposed his will on the baseball during his BP session. Holman peppered the deep gaps with line drives with a peak exit velo of 97.3mph on Trackman. His Blast Slash (((avg))Bat Speed/Rotational Acceleration/On Plane Efficiency) of 71mph/22g/80% was above the showcase average across the board. Combine those elements with Holman’s power and hand speed (23.2 mph) and you have a fast, powerful barrel coming through the zone for a long time. The UCLA commit showed athletic actions behind the plate with a 75 mph arm. Mixed his pitch calling very well during the game portion.

Maxwell Muncy SS / 3B / Thousand Oaks, CA / 2021

Clocked a 6.8 60. Pounded balls all day with 100+ exit velocity readings (T103) showing consistency with the barrel (73% OPE per Blast Motion) and quickness of both hands and bat (72.2 mph). Hit the games only HR (opposite field). Power tool is developing, and overall frame is filling in. Showed off his strong, accurate arm with 87 MPH across the diamond. Athletic and fluid footwork with excellent body control. Muncy is firmly in the discussion as top SS draft prospect in the California class. 

Caleb Anderson RHP / Paloma Valley, CA / 2021

Anderson is quickly establishing himself as a must see prospect deep in Riverside County. He showed a clean, repeatable delivery in which he uses his length and pace to his advantage. With average extension at 6'8" Anderson comes at you with long arms to pound the zone with three pitches with the slider oozing projection with -18.4" avg. horizontal movement and 2410rpm avg spin. Mentioned the pace, he uses that while varying pitches from a fast, loose arm to cause uncomfortable at-bats. Anderson has made significant strides in the last year in his overall game. 

Izeah Muniz RHP / Bishop Amat , CA / 2021

One of the standout performances on the day. Fastball T91 (avg 20.8" IVB) and a curveball that made plenty of seasoned hitters look confused. The pitch is a weapon now with its avg IVM of -18.1 inches. Last viewing was opening day 2020, and has improved significantly both on the mound and physically where he's transformed the shape of his body. Does not turn 17 until November of this year making him one of the most intriguing follows in this class. 

Evan Yates RHP / 3B / Martin Luther King, CA / 2021

Cole Koniarsky OF / Ayala, CA / 2021

Koniarsky’s length and strength really stand out when you first see him up close. At 6-foot-4 195-pounds, Koniarsky is a 6.98 60 runner whose instincts and first step quickness allow him to track just about everything down in the outfield and cover a ton of real estate. Koniarsky displays a compact swing with a line drive approach favoring the pull-side. Current hand quickness allows him to pull the barrel inside as he demonstrated in game. His Blast Slash (((avg))Bat Speed/Rotational Acceleration/On Plane Efficiency) of 68.8mph/17g/55% were all slightly to above average for the group.

Anthony Silvas RHP / Moreno Valley , CA / 2021

Silvas, a Cal Baptist commit, did nothing to disappoint in his outing where he worked down the mound with all of his 6-foot-3 210-pound frame. Touching 91, Silvas lived comfortably in the 89-91 range with a fastball that flashed an average of 22.4” of induced vertical break and 7’1”of extension. Command was overall good although a couple fastballs got away from him a touch. His curveball is sharp and late breaking from a repeatable slot that worked in-and-away with to hitters. While he only threw a few of them, the changeup is a high spin, late biting pitch that had hitters guessing every time.

Charlie Saum C / 1B / Thousand Oaks, CA / 2021

One of the premier catching prospects in the class, Saum impressed with his overall athleticism - was very good around the bag at 1B and behind the dish - and his cerebral approach to the game. During BP he showed a gap-to-gap approach that produced line drives and a peak exit velocity of 100 mph. It’s a simple, fairly compact swing that allows him to get the barrel on plane through the zone with excellent hand speed. His Blast Slash (((avg))Bat Speed/Rotational Acceleration/On Plane Efficiency) of 70.8mph/17.8g/68% were all above the event average. Behind the plate Saum’s arm strength and accuracy are a treat to watch. With pop times in the 1.91-1.94 range, throws were accurate to the bag at 80mph. He’s low and quiet in his crouch showing soft hands and a keen sense of calling the game. At first base he was nimble and light on his feet gathering balls out front and picking them out of the dirt. He seemed more than comfortable in handling himself around the bag.

Nick McLain OF / LHP / Beckman , CA / 2021

One of two prospects to improve his 60 time the second time he ran it, and clocked a 6.85 after a 6.91. Consistently squared balls up at the plate from both sides with excellent bat speed (71.2mph) Has current strong, fast hands (21.2mph) that results in easy power and loft. A natural RHH, but the LH swing has improved and looking more refined since last viewing. The arm strength is real from the outfield at 91 mph and is showing improved accuracy.

Josh Randall C / RHP / Capistrano Valley Christian , CA / 2021

Has continued to develop his overall game to the point where he’s a legitimate top prospect in SoCal. Reshaped his body during covid and now touches 92 on the mound (avg 21.8” IVB) with an improving slider at 82 (avg 2700 rpm). He also showed improved athleticism behind the dish with pops in the 1.95-2.05 range at 83 mph. During BP he registered multiple 100+ exit velocity readings topping 104, and exceptional Blast Motion data readings as well. His Blast Slash (((avg))Bat Speed/Rotational Acceleration/On Plane Efficiency) 74.1mph/15.5g/80% were all ranked in the top three. Randall has gone from small school potential prospect to a prospect that will be high on scouts follow list.
