SoCal Player of the Week: Jake Vogel

We received many nominations this week for the award this week but stood out above the rest in production and awe. 

Congratulations are in order for 2020 OF Jake Vogel of Huntington Beach HS as he has been awarded the PBR California SoCal Player of the Week for the week of March 9th - March 14th.

Huntington Beach was one of the lucky SoCal programs to get two games in last week amid rainy weather and the eventual suspension of the season and Vogel took full advantage of the opportunity. 

In his first game of the week against Corona del Mar, Vogel went 3-for-4 with 3 RBI. His hits included a single, double and a home run. In the Oilers game against Laguna Beach Vogel took full advantage of his day on the field going 4-for-4 with 5 RBI, 4 runs, and stolen base. Hits hits included a single, double, triple, and a home run. After coming a triple shy against CdM, Vogel hit for the cycle in what could be his last high school baseball game. And he accomplished the feat by the fourth inning of the game. 

Vogel, a UCLA signee, has been one of the hottest hitters in SoCal and has positioned himself as a potential high round draft pick in the 2020 MLB Draft. Below is video of our recent viewings. 

For his efforts last week Jake Vogel has been named the Prep Baseball Report California SoCal Players of the Week for the week of March 9th - March 14th. We salute his accomplishments and wish him and his team continued success both on-and-off the field.
