NorCal Player of the Week

LOS ANGELES, CALIF. - The CIF playoffs have begun in multiple sections all over the state and as such, we will select our final players of the week for the spring 2023 season. We thank all the coaches who took the time to advocate for their student-athletes all spring long.

Live Oak HS swept a two game series over Leigh HS, important league victories that could very well springboard the Acorns toward a deep CCS playoff run. The performances turned in by senior RHP/1B Landon Stump (UCLA commit) carried the Acorns, both at the plate and on the mound. Stump got hot with the bat on Tuesday (2-for-4, 2 2B, 5 RBI) while also completing 6 IP, striking out 6, with one walk and 3 ER as LOHS won 8-3. The bat stayed hot on Thursday as the Acorns won 10-2 and Stump went 3-for-4, with another 2B and a HR, while driving in 5 more runs. The team is now 17-9 for the season (12-6, 1st place in Mount Hamilton League) and ready to roll for the playoffs.

As such, we have selected 2023 RHP/1B Landon Stump of Live Oak HS as the NorCal Player of the Week for the week of May 8th - May 13th, 2023, and our final player of the week for 2023.
