Les Lukach
State Scouting Director

Cypress, CA. - On a brisk, overcast day, the Cypress College Chargers hosted the Long Beach City Vikings 6-2 in a non-conference game featuring two traditional junior college programs in the SoCal area. The win pushed the Chargers record to 7-1 on the young season, while Long Beach City dropped to 2-7. Cypress took broke the game open in the third inning after plating four runs. Long Beach City responded with a pair of runs in the fifth on a Zack Rivas two-run home run. Cypress tacked on two more runs in their half of the sixth inning before their bullpen locked things down and closed the game out in their favor.

Travis Aversa SS (L/R), So. Long Beach City College

Six-foot-1, 165-pounds, squared shoulders, wiry strength throughout the frame with strong wrists/forearms. Started at shortstop while batting second. Immediately made himself known as he took the third pitch he saw and drove it into left-center field for a stand up double in the first inning.
