Game Notes: Redwood at Clovis North

Blaine Clemmens
Northern California Director of Scouting

Fresno, CA - Both host Clovis North (#18 Preseason Power 25) and Redwood (unranked but were strongly considered) are among the handful of teams expected to contend for the Central Section D1 title this spring. They last squared off in the section quarter-finals last May, a game won 2-1 by CNHS. This one was scoreless until the bottom of the 4th inning, when a two-out bases loaded double by junior 2nd baseman Nolan Inouye put CNHS ahead 3-0, a lead they would not relinquish behind a strong outing by junior LHP Riley Cooper (verbal U of Arizona). Inside are scouting (with video) and game notes on 10 other players, and all but a couple are uncommitted. College program and you don't have a subscription? Now seems like a good time to get one.

Cooper didn't disappoint, throwing 6 IP (7 H, 2 ER, 7 K, BB). Between his pitching performance and that one BIG swing of the bat from junior 2B Nolan Inouye, the day belonged to the Broncos.
