Game Notes (CA): Carmel at Monte Vista Christian
February 27, 2019
Watsonville, CA - It was cold with a slow and steady drizzle of rain today at Monte Vista Christian as two teams from each of the Pacific Coast Athletic League Divisions met up for 6 innings before the sun disappeared and the game was called. There was a lot of young talent on the field today with a group of committed and uncommitted 2020/2021 players that stood out.
Monte Vista Christian got on board early in this one scoring 6 runs on 5 hits in the first inning. The Mustangs got another one in the 2nd inning and could have had more leaving the bases loaded. In the 3rd, MVC got another 3 runs on 3 hits before getting the last run in the 4th. The Mustangs extending their lead early allowed them to get guys AB’s in the 4th and 5th innings. The Carmel Padres kept fighting in this one getting one in the 2nd/3rd innings before bringing out the long ball in the 5th and 6th innings scoring 7 over those two and bringing the score close at 11-9. Here’s a look at some of the players who really stood out.
2020 RHP/1B Aidan Lee was the standout for the Mustang offense going 4-4 with two doubles and two singles driving in five runs and scoring two. He also started on the hill going 2.2 innings showing a projectable frame.
