The Bishop Gorman Scout Day in completed, we now take a look back at the standouts from yesterday's event. The Scout Day included a Pro-Style Workout where players ran a Laser Timed 60 Yard Dash, took a Batting Practice, Catcher Pop Times/Velocity, Outfield Evaluations/Velocity and Infield Evaluation/Velocity concluding with Pitches Bullpens. This was an exclusive event for players in the Bishop Gorman program to highlight and promote players in their program.

The Bishop Gorman Scout Day featured a mostly the junior varsity group that showcased the talent coming up through the Gaels pipeline. Freshman outfielder, Drake Kajioka, got the day started off with an event best 6.92 Laser Timed 60 and found himself near the top of every metric leaderboard that applied to him. 2024 RHP, Henry Prindl, showed well on the bump after he threw an event best 83 mph from the Outfield. 2023 SS/RHP, Payton Smith, continued to show improvement in each part of his game with a mature round of batting practice where he sprayed line drives all over the yard and ended his day with the Top Fastball Velocity at 80 mph. Sophomore second baseman, Justin Kania, paired his projectable actions in the infield with an 80 mph Infield Velocity. 2023 two-way, Marcus Matias, may. have had one of the best overall days at yesterday's Scout Day as he earned the Top Exit Velocity at 88 mph. This is going to be a group to keep an eye on over the next few years as the Bishop Gorman program continues to reload on talent.
