Vancouver Fall Open ID: Positional Data Dive

On Saturday, October 28th the PBR British Columbia staff hosted it's third showcase of the fall with the Vancouver Fall Open ID at Tourmaline West Stadium in Vancouver, British Columbia. This event featured over 47 players from the across the province in the 2024 - 2027 classes and allowed our staff an opportunity to get an in-depth look at the players, as well as collect updated metrics via our tech partner TrackMan.

Earlier this week, we broke down the top measurable data performers from the event with our Statistical Analysis and Pitching Data Dive. Now, we will take a further in-depth look at the top position players and metrics with the help of our tech partnerships, broken down by the categories down below:

Exit Velocity: This metric measures the speed of the ball, measured in miles per hour, as it comes off the bat at the moment of contact.

BATTED BALL DISTANCE (MAX)

SWEET SPOT %

Sweet Spot percentage: This metric is determined by how often the player produces a batted ball during the session with a launch angle between 8 to 32 degrees.
