West Side ID: Quick Hits

On Tuesday, June 18th, Prep Baseball Report Arizona hosted the West Side ID at the Canyon View High School in, Surprise AZ. The ID events are an open event held for prospects in the 2028-2025 classes in the state of Arizona, giving the players the chance to showcase their skills in front of the PBR Arizona Staff using state-of-the-art technology on field.
Today, we’ll start by giving you the Top Performers from the West Side ID, which we like to call Quick Hits. Eli McBryde C / OF / Canyon View, AZ / 2026Eli McBryde, a 2026 catcher from Canyon View High School, delivered some of the best rounds of batting practice on the day. A true switch hitter, McBryde demonstrated impressive pullside power from both sides of the plate. He naturally exhibited more power from the left side, showcasing easy bat speed and quick hands. Behind the plate, McBryde's defensive skills were highlighted by a pop time ranging from 2.01 to 2.20. His combination of offensive prowess and solid defensive capabilities makes him a standout prospect in the 2026 class.

Brady Trujillo 1B / LHP / Canyon View, AZ / 2027Rankings StateRank: 38 / POS: 2
Brady Trujillo, a 2027 grad from Canyon View High School, was a standout at the recent West Side ID event. Trujillo showcased his impressive abilities both at the plate and on the mound. He recorded the second-highest exit velocity of the event at 101.7 mph, displaying significant pullside power. As a first baseman and left-handed pitcher, Trujillo also impressed on the mound with a fastball in the low to mid-80s, marking the highest velocity of the day. Having previously represented Team Arizona at the 2023 Junior Future Games, Trujillo continues to build on his reputation as a promising prospect heading into his sophomore year.

Greyson Bott OF / RHP / NOTRE DAME PREPARATORY, AZ / 2026Greyson Bott, a 2026 grad from Notre Dame Prep High School, impressed with his great frame, standing at 6'3" and 185 pounds. At the plate, Bott's long frame did not hinder his mechanics; he maintained a clean and loose bat path, producing a maximum exit velocity of 95 mph. Defensively, Bott showcased a reliable glove in the outfield and demonstrated his arm strength with throws clocked at 80 mph. His combination of physicality, offensive potential, and solid defensive skills makes Bott a noteworthy prospect in the 2026 class.

Mattox Murray SS / RHP / Canyon View High School, AZ / 2028Mattox Murray, a 2028 grad set to attend Canyon View High School in the fall, was the top standout in the 2028 class at the event. As a middle infielder and right-handed pitcher, Murray displayed advanced maturity during batting practice, consistently driving balls back up the middle and showing impressive strength to the pullside. His ability to control the barrel at a high level was evident, culminating in a top exit velocity of 90 mph. Murray's combination of hitting prowess and positional versatility marks him as a promising prospect to watch in the coming years.

Reed Ross C / OF / Saguaro, AZ / 2027Reed Ross, a 2027 grad from Saguaro High School, stood out with the highest exit velocity of the day, reaching an impressive 102.9 mph. As an outfielder and catcher, Ross showcased quick hands at the plate and a whip-like action in his barrel, which translated into a consistent middle-of-the-field approach. His ability to generate significant power at the plate makes him a standout performer and a promising prospect to watch out for in the 2027 class.
