Tucson Summer ID: Quick Hits

On Saturday, August 24th, Prep Baseball Report Arizona hosted the Tucson Summer ID at the University of Arizona home of the Wildcats in, Tucson AZ. The ID events are an open event held for prospects in the 2028-2025 classes in the state of Arizona, giving the players the chance to showcase their skills in front of the PBR Arizona Staff using state-of-the-art technology on field. 

Today, we’ll start by giving you the Top Performers from the Tucson Summer ID, which we like to call Quick Hits. Jace Diaz SS / RHP / Casteel, AZ / 2027

Jace Diaz, a 2027 graduate out of Casteel High School, impressed at the Tucson Summer ID with his standout performance as a left-handed hitting middle infielder. Diaz showcased his polished defensive skill set, featuring ultra-clean actions and advanced footwork up the middle. His fluid movements and quick transfer highlight his natural feel for the position, making him a reliable defender in all situations. At the plate, Diaz put together an impressive round of BP, consistently driving the ball with authority. His approach is mature for his age, focusing on using the middle part of the field, resulting in a series of low line drives and deep fly balls. With his combination of defensive prowess and offensive consistency, Diaz is a player to watch closely as he prepares for the 2025 spring season. Casteel High School is adding yet another piece to their lineup, as Diaz’s continues to development he could be a significant contributor to their success in the near future.

David Driskill 3B / 2B / Salpointe Catholic, AZ / 2026

David Driskill, a 2026 graduate from Salpointe High School, made a strong impression at the Tucson Summer ID with a standout performance during the BP session. Driskill posted the second-highest exit velocity of the event at 100.8 mph, showcasing his ability to generate serious power, particularly to the pull side. His athletic frame, combined with a smooth, soft load and quick hands, allows him to consistently drive the ball with authority. Driskill’s raw power and advanced bat speed make him a prospect to watch closely as he continues to develop.

Parker Williams OF / 1B / Corona Del Sol, AZ / 2026

Parker Williams, a 2026 graduate from Corona Del Sol High School, showcased his all-around talent at the Tucson Summer ID. He first impressed with a high-level arm in the outfield, clocking in at 91 mph, demonstrating his defensive potential. During the BP portion, Williams displayed his power at the plate with a stiff right-handed swing, producing a max exit velocity of 100.8 mph. Most of his hard-hit contact worked to the pull side, indicating his ability to drive the ball with authority. With his strong arm and raw power, Williams is poised to be a significant contributor to the Aztecs' offense this coming spring.

Kingston Sinner OF / RHP / Saguaro, AZ / 2028

Kingston Sinner, a 2028 graduate set to attend Saguaro High School this fall, has already established himself as a standout prospect. A key participant on this year's Junior Futures team representing Arizona, Sinner emerged as one of the top players on a talent-rich roster. As a highly athletic outfielder, he has the tools to become one of the premier prospects in the state for the 2028 class. At the plate, Sinner’s tall stance and advanced barrel control allow him to drive balls to all fields with authority. As he heads into his first high school spring season, Sinner is a name to watch closely as he continues to develop. 

Luca Amoroso OF / OF / Notre Dame Prep, AZ / 2026

Luca Amoroso, a 2026 graduate and outfielder from Notre Dame Prep, delivered one of the most athletic performances at the Tucson Summer ID. Displaying his speed with a sub-7 60-yard dash, Amoroso also showed his power at the plate, recording a max exit velocity of 93.8 mph. His balanced swing, characterized by good separation and a flat path, allowed him to consistently produce line drives. With his combination of speed, power, and refined mechanics, Amoroso is a well-rounded prospect to keep an eye on as he continues to develop. 

Israel Hernandez SS / 2B / Salpointe Catholic, AZ / 2027

Israel Hernandez, a 2027 graduate and middle infielder from Salpointe Catholic High School, continues to impress as a high-follow prospect for the Arizona staff. During the Tucson Summer ID, Hernandez showcased his premier glove and plus footwork up the middle, reinforcing his reputation as an elite defender. Offensively, Hernandez has added noticeable size, which translated into significant gains at the plate, including the top exit velocity of the day for the 2027 class at 92.8 mph. With his continued development and strong showing, Hernandez is expected to climb prospect lists in the coming weeks.

Johnny Abramian SS / 2B / Salpointe Catholic, AZ / 2026

Johnny Abramian, a 2026 graduate and middle infielder from Salpointe Catholic High School, added to the excitement surrounding his team’s middle infield depth with an impressive showing at the Tucson Summer ID. Abramian demonstrated his athleticism early on, clocking a 6.91 in the 60-yard dash and showing a strong arm across the infield in the low 80s. Not only did he excel defensively with smooth actions up the middle, but he also made a solid impact at the plate. With players like Abramian, Salpointe Catholic appears to have a locked-up middle infield heading into the upcoming season.

Juan Hernandez OF / RHP / Tucson, AZ / 2025

Juan Hernandez, a 2025 graduate and two-way prospect from Tucson High School and committed to Pima CC earlier this month. At the Tucson Summer ID, Hernandez led the field in multiple categories, including an outfield velocity of 92 mph and an impressive max exit velocity of 101.2 mph at the plate. However, it was on the mound where Hernandez truly separated himself, showcasing a polished three-pitch mix for strikes, with his fastball topping out at 89 mph. As a 2023 Future Games alum and a high-follow prospect for the Arizona staff.

Rafael Echeverria LHP / OF / Rio Rico, AZ / 2025

Rafael Echeverria, a left-handed pitcher from Rio Rancho High School, caught the attention of the Arizona staff during a 2023 spring game against Sahuarita. Echeverria features a true three-pitch mix, highlighted by a low to mid-80s fastball that he consistently lands for strikes. His quick arm action from the left side makes him an effective and deceptive pitcher, capable of getting hitters out with regularity. Echeverria's ability to command his pitches and keep hitters off balance marks him as a player to watch as he continues to develop.
