On Saturday, November 16th, Prep Baseball Report Arizona hosted the Swarm Scout Day at the Mountain View High School in, Mesa AZ. The Scout Day events are a private event held for prospects in the 2029-2025 classes from the designated program the state of Arizona, giving the players the chance to showcase their skills in front of the PBR Arizona Staff using state-of-the-art technology on field.

Ian Palumbo OF / LHP / Brophy Prep, AZ / 2028Ian Palumbo, a 2028 outfielder from Brophy Prep, showcased his potential during the Swarm Scout Day this past weekend. Standing at 6-foot-2 and 172 pounds, Palumbo possesses a tall, athletic frame that projects for significant power development in the future. As a left-handed hitter, he demonstrated a smooth swing with flashes of power, producing a max exit velocity of 90 mph and a max distance of 343 feet. In the outfield, Palumbo displayed solid arm strength with throws reaching 82 mph and athleticism with a 6.93 60-yard dash. As both an outfielder and a left-handed hitter, Palumbo is a name to watch as he develops over his high school career.

Luis Mejia, a 2026 graduate from St. Mary's Catholic High School, is a left-handed hitting shortstop and one of the top uncommitted prospects in Arizona's 2026 class. Mejia stood out at the 2023 Future Games with his high-level defensive skills, showcasing a smooth glove and strong arm up the middle, recording an infield velocity of 88 mph. At the plate, Mejia impressed with a consistent contact tool, producing a max exit velocity of 95 mph and a max distance of 357 feet, highlighting his ability to drive the ball with authority. Standing at 5-foot-11 and 168 pounds, Mejia posted a 7.20 60-yard dash, with room to improve his footspeed as he adds strength and refines his explosiveness. This blend of defensive ability, offensive potential, and projectable athleticism makes Mejia a well-rounded prospect to watch closely.

Owen McGuire OF / RHP / Brophy College Prep, AZ / 2026Owen McGuire, a 2026 two-way prospect from Brophy College Prep, showcased his versatility and high-level tools during Saturday morning's Swarm Scout Day. Defensively, McGuire flashed an impressive 89 mph arm from the outfield, demonstrating strength and accuracy. At the plate, the 6-foot-1, 178-pound right-handed hitter impressed with a flat, athletic swing that consistently generated hard pull-side contact, recording a max exit velocity of 91 mph and a max distance of 323 feet. On the mound, McGuire stood out with a well-rounded arsenal, including a fastball sitting 82-84 mph with a top spin rate of 2,174 rpm. His high-spin breaking ball, registering 72-73 mph with a peak spin of 3,046 rpm, was a standout offering he could locate for strikes, complemented by a slider and a developing changeup. With his current tools and projection, McGuire is an intriguing uncommitted prospect to watch in the 2026 class.

Vinny Noble C / 1B / Brophy College Prep, AZ / 2026Vinny Noble, a 2026 catcher from Brophy College Prep, displayed an impressive combination of size, athleticism, and skill during Saturday morning’s workout. Standing at 6-foot-5 and 190 pounds, Noble’s tall and athletic frame gives him a significant presence behind the plate and at the plate. Offensively, the right-handed hitter showcased a simple toe-lift load and efficient barrel control through the zone, generating easy power with minimal effort. Javier Romero / OF / Americas, TX / 2026Javier Romero, a 2026 outfielder from St. Mary’s High School, impressed during the defensive workout and truly stood out in the BP session. Romero showcased a loose, athletic stance at the plate, consistently driving hard line drives to the big part of the field with a simple and efficient swing. He recorded a max exit velocity of 90 mph and a max distance of 324 feet, displaying his ability to create consistent hard contact. Defensively, Romero showed versatility and arm strength, with throws up to 85 mph from the outfield and 82 mph across the infield. At 5-foot-10 and 155 pounds, Romero has room for growth and is a promising prospect in Arizona’s 2026 class.

Chase Waterbury SS / RHP / Sandra Day O'Connor, AZ / 2028Chase Waterbury, a 2028 middle infielder from Sandra Day O'Connor High School, was a standout performer at the Swarm Scout Day, making a strong impression among his class. Despite his smaller frame at 5-foot-7, 129 pounds, Waterbury demonstrated advanced maturity in the box, producing consistent hard contact during BP rounds. His flat, compact swing generated low line drives with a max exit velocity of 90 mph and a max distance of 322 feet. Defensively, Waterbury showcased reliable actions and a 76 mph arm across the infield. As he continues to add size and strength, Waterbury has the tools to develop into a key prospect in Arizona's 2028 class.

His advanced hitting ability translated into one of the top exit velocities of the day at 95 mph, with a max distance of 358 feet. With a 6.92 60-yard dash, he also demonstrates above-average athleticism for his age. As part of one of Arizona’s premier high school programs, Harmon is a name to follow closely in the 2027 class.

Defensively, he demonstrated consistency and confidence up the middle, supported by a solid 75 mph arm. At the plate, Casale showcased a disciplined approach, favoring the opposite field with consistent contact. Despite his current size at 5-foot-7 and 130 pounds, his skill set and approach highlight his potential for growth. With added size and strength in the coming years, Casale is a prospect to watch in the 2028 class.
