Following an exhilarating high school baseball season, Prep Baseball has released its highly anticipated 2026 Class rankings update, featuring an expanded list now showcasing the top 50 prospects. This latest update brings significant changes, including a new player crowned as the number one prospect and some fresh faces breaking into the top 10. As scouts and fans alike delve into these rankings, the heightened competition and emerging talents promise an exciting future for high school baseball.

Tait Reynolds OF / SS / Queen Creek, AZ / 2026

Tait Reynolds from Queen Creek High School has ascended to the top spot as the new #1 prospect in Arizona's 2026 class, following a stellar 2024 high school season. Reynolds posted impressive stats, hitting .408 with 40 hits, 27 RBIs, 10 doubles, and 2 home runs. Standing at 6-foot-2 and 200 pounds, Reynolds combines an athletic frame with exceptional skills. He is a sub-6.5 runner and a plus defender in the outfield, making him a standout both defensively and offensively. His performance at the plate, coupled with his speed and defensive skill set, cements his status as the premier prospect in the state.

Ryan Harwood OF / 1B / Casteel High School, AZ / 2026

Coming in as the #2 prospect in the 2026 class is none other than Casteel High School's Ryan Harwood. Harwood, a left-handed hitter and USA Baseball representative, is no stranger to being at the top of a highly talented list. He had an outstanding year for the Casteel Colts, helping to lead them to another 5A State title. Harwood hit .333 on the season with 35 RBIs, 5 doubles, and 5 home runs. While he is primarily known for his hitting prowess, Harwood also boasts a high-level arm as a corner outfielder, making him a dual threat on both offense and defense for the Colts.

Alain Gómez Gudino C / 3B / Saguaro High School, AZ / 2026

Coming in at #3 in the 2026 Class Rankings is a new name to the list and a rising star, Alain Gudino-Gomez from Saguaro High School. Gomez emerged as a major standout this spring, solidifying his reputation as the top defensive catcher in the state for his class. The left-handed hitting catcher has the exceptional ability to control the game behind the plate, featuring a high-level arm and adeptly managing a pitching staff. This spring, Gomez took on the significant task of catching for the top arm in the state, Cam Caminiti, and handled it with remarkable ease, making a 97 mph fastball look like 87 with his confident and fluid receiving. At the plate, Gomez hit an impressive .384 with 22 RBIs, 6 doubles, and a home run, showcasing his all-around talent and earning his place among the top prospects in Arizona.

Coming in at #4 in the 2026 Class rankings update is outfielder Ben Ball from Hamilton High School. Ball earned a spot on the First Team All-State team for Prep Baseball Arizona, leading the Hamilton Huskies with an impressive .471 batting average. As an Arizona commit, Ball promises to be an exciting player to watch in the coming years. His offensive prowess is already evident, and many are anticipating a rise in his power numbers as he continues to develop. Coming in at the #5 spot in the 2026 Class rankings is shortstop Jackson Weber from Horizon High School. Weber is one of the more intriguing players to watch in the 2026 class, showcasing exceptional defensive skills with a smooth glove and strong arm across the infield. At the plate, Weber features a clean right-handed swing, contributing to a solid 2024 campaign where he hit .329 with 17 RBIs, 5 doubles, and 2 home runs.
