Prep Baseball Arizona: Player of the Week (April 8-14)

The Prep Baseball Arizona High School Player of the Week highlights the best performance for an Arizona High School positional player from the previous week. Each week, High School coaches are emailed and asked to send in their nominees for Pitcher and Player of the Week, along with our scouting staff attending games and scouring box scores throughout the week. If you wish to nominate someone for Player or Pitcher of the Week, please email Arizona Scouting Director, Shea Sbranti.
To begin each week, Prep Baseball Arizona will announce it's Player of the Week, alongside our Power 25 Rankings Update, from the previous Monday-Sunday games.
'24 LHP Mason Russell (Casteel HS) takes home this week's Player of the Week honors following six inning no-hitter at the USA Baseball's National High School Invitational against the 13th-ranked team in the country, Wesleyan Christian Academy (NC).

2024 LHP Mason Russell (Arizona commit) got the ball in Casteel's opening game at the National High School Invitational in Cary, North Carolina and the top-ranked left-hander in the State was dominant from start to finish. Russell went six innings allowing no hits, no runs and two walks, along with 10 punchouts en route to a 10-0 win over Wesleyan Christian Academy (NC). Not only did he dominate, but he also did it against Prep Baseball's 13th-ranked team in the country. The following game, in the quarterfinals, Casteel fell 3-2 in a tight contest against Harvard-Westlake (CA), the 10th-ranked team in the country. It was yet another quality outing from Russell who's gaining some momentum with the draft now just three months away.
