Arizona Rising Stars ID (Session 2): Quick Hits

On Saturday, April 27th, Prep Baseball Report Arizona hosted the second Rising Stars event of the spring at Grand Canyon University in, Phoenix AZ. The Rising Stars is an open event held for prospects in the 2028-2029 classes in the state of Arizona that stands as a tryout to represent team Arizona at the 2024 Junior Future Games in Atlanta Georgia. Giving the players the chance to showcase their skills in front of the PBR Arizona Staff using state-of-the-art technology on field. 

Today, we’ll start by giving you the Top Performers from the Rising Stars, which we like to call Quick Hits. Cooper LeRoy 1B / RHP / Mesquite High School, AZ / 2028

Cooper LeRoy, a promising right-handed pitcher and first baseman, showcased his talent at the Rising Stars event last Saturday, leaving a lasting impression on the Prep Baseball Staff. Standing tall at 6 feet 3 inches and weighing in at 165 pounds, LeRoy possesses a long, athletic frame that hints at his potential for further development. Of particular note was LeRoy's impressive fastball, which clocked in at an event-high speed of 85.4 miles per hour. With his combination of size, athleticism, and raw talent, LeRoy is poised to make waves on the baseball diamond as he embarks on his journey at Mesquite High School in the fall of 2024. Kingston Sinner OF / RHP / Saguaro High School, AZ / 2028

Kingston Sinner, a versatile outfielder and pitcher, showcased his impressive skills at the recent event, garnering attention with his exceptional athleticism and talent. With plans to join Saguaro High School in the fall of 2024, Sinner has already established himself as a standout player to watch. Notably, Sinner boasted the top outfield velocity of 87 miles per hour, highlighting his strong arm and defensive prowess in the outfield. His confident footwork and glove work further underscored his defensive capabilities. Additionally, Sinner demonstrated his offensive prowess at the plate, consistently making hard contact to all fields with a keen sense of the barrel. Adrian Sisco C / 3B / Desert Mountain High School, AZ / 2028

Adrian Sisco, a standout catcher, made a lasting impression at the recent event, solidifying his status as one of the top prospects to watch in Arizona high school baseball. Set to join Desert Mountain High School in the fall of 2024, Sisco showcased his skills both behind the plate and in the batter's box. As a catcher, Sisco proved himself to be the top performer, displaying an impressive 1.91-2.03 pop time and unleashing a strong 76 mph arm from behind the plate, demonstrating his defensive prowess and ability to control the opposition's running game. At the plate, Sisco exhibited a wide stance and a flat swing path, resulting in consistent hard contact to all fields. With his combination of defensive acumen and offensive potential, Sisco is poised to make waves in the Arizona high school baseball landscape in the years to come, earning recognition as one of the top prospects in the region. Russell Nelson RHP / OF / Casteel High School, AZ / 2029

With plans to attend Casteel High School in the fall of 2025, Nelson has already drawn significant attention for his remarkable abilities. Particularly notable is Nelson's performance as a right-handed pitcher, where he impressed with the second-highest velocity of the day, reaching an impressive 84 mph. His delivery features a quick and explosive arm action, hinting at his potential for even greater success in the years to come. With his standout performance, Nelson is poised to make a significant impact for the Colts when he joins their roster in the spring of 2026. Bryant Provencio SS / 2B / Desert Ridge High, AZ / 2028

Bryant Provencio, the standout shortstop of Saturday morning's event, left a lasting impression with his exceptional skills up the middle of the diamond. Demonstrating clean and fluid actions, Provencio showcased a smooth and confident glove, seamlessly fielding balls and displaying a strong and accurate arm across the infield. His defensive prowess was evident, solidifying his role as a reliable anchor for any infield. Additionally, Provencio proved to be a force at the plate, exhibiting power beyond his size as he consistently sprayed low and hard line drives to all parts of the field. With his impressive defensive abilities and offensive potential, Provencio has established himself as a dynamic player to watch, capable of making significant contributions on both sides of the ball. It's worth noting that Provencio will be attending Desert Ridge High School in the fall of 2024, where his talent is sure to shine brightly on the baseball diamond.

  

 

Conner Hansen OF / 1B / Saguaro High School, AZ / 2028

Conner Hansen, a versatile outfielder and first baseman, made a significant impact during Saturday's event, showcasing his impressive power and hitting ability. With plans to attend Saguaro High School in the fall of 2024, Hansen is poised to become a key player for his team. Particularly noteworthy was Hansen's performance during batting practice, where he displayed remarkable power for his age. With a maximum exit velocity of 94.4 miles per hour, Hansen consistently drove the ball with authority, demonstrating his ability to generate solid contact and drive the ball to all fields. His swing mechanics were notably simple and clean, featuring a direct path to the ball that resulted in true spin to the pull side when the ball was in the air. With his combination of power, hitting prowess, and versatility in the field, Hansen is primed to make a significant impact for Saguaro High School's baseball program in the upcoming season.
