We continue our coverage of uncommitted players, spotlighting them to help maximize their exposure and assist them in the recruiting process. Today, we look at one of the top uncommitted left-handed bats in the Class of 2022, SS Ezra McNaughton (Mountain View).
Scouting Report: 5-foot-11, 185-pounds, large frame with a strong athletic build, defined body, big forearms, has packed on strength in the last year. Left-handed hitter, squared base, powerful crouched stance, uses leg kick while loading into barrel tilt. Gap to gap approach, short swing, catches the ball in front of lead foot with extension. Possesses elite bat speed, ability to accelerate quickly with natural strength through contact, up to 101.8 mph exit velo, two balls at 370ft. Hit a double down LF line in live game action with an inside out swing while showing some ability to adjust to offspeed. Pre-pitch hop, relaxed first step, low fielding position with balanced base. Can stop feet to field at times. Quiet strong hands. Short arm with 82mph arm strength, good accuracy. Showcased decent speed running a 6.85 as well. Left-handed bat should be followed closely.
