Gut Feel Risers:
+ 3B Vytas Valincius, Baylor School, TN (2021)
The South Carolina recruit elevated his stock after a standout performance at the PBR Super 60 where he launched balls upwards of 409 feet with 110 mph exit velocity. Valincius’ hit-tool has always carried him as his ability to slow the game down at the plate and track pitches at an advanced level carries him far beyond being a stock big-body right-handed power threat. But that power continues to reveal itself, and the simplicity and directness of the path at the Super 60 made it even more astounding the ability to elevate with authority. Perhaps most impressive given his 6-foot-4, 240-pound frame, Valincius ran a 6.97 60-yard dash time, moving athletically throughout, and should get a chance to start at third base professionally although the bat will more than carry him as a first baseman if necessary.
