FULL EVENT COVERAGE

Victor Gil OF / SS / Horizon, AZ / 2023

The 5-foot-11 170 pound OF/SS was hard to miss on Sunday’s USA Prime Scout day leading the club house in 3 of the top categories, Max EV of 98.7, OF velo of 81 and a top 60 time of 7.12. Gil showcases an athletic build with potential for added strength. The right handed hitter had a wide base in the box with a lot of movement in the hands pre pitch. His batpath worked flat through the zone with intent, producing hard line drives and deep fly balls to the pull side. Defensively, Gil had athletic actions in the outfield with clean glove to throw skill. We look forward to following Gil as he goes into his senior season at Horizon.

Colten Figueroa C / 3B / Horizon , AZ / 2025

6-foot 185 pound C/OF Figueroa has a strong and athletic build that showed in his pro style workout on Sunday at the USA Prime Scout Day. The right handed hitter had a slight bend in the knees working just outside of his shoulders, with a low set rhythm in the hands. His path worked direct to the ball showing some pull side power producing a max EV of 91.8 mph. Behind the plate Figueroa showed good actions with the glove and ability to block, while having had both the best arm and pop time of the day at 2.05-2.10 with a 72 mph velo. We look forward to following Figueroa as he goes into his Sophomore season at Horizon.

Joseph Kai Klepfer SS / OF / Heritage Academy, AZ / 2027

The 5-foot-8 140 pound SS/OF was a stand out this past Sunday at the USA Prime Scout Day and was the youngest participant of the day. The 2027 Grad out of Heritage Acedemy, has a good athletic build with a strong lower half and plenty of room for added strength. Klepfer has an open stance with his hands held outside his body with some pre-pitch bat movement. His path works long and flat through the zone with a high over the shoulder finish. Klepfer showed ability to use his hands at the plate peppering balls to both sides of the field with the pitch he was given. Defensively, Klepfers footwork was fluid and soft when moving side to side and showed great athleticism.

Dominic Ziccarelli SS / RHP / Cactus Shadows, AZ / 2025

The Uncommitted 2025 grad showcased a strong build standing at 5-foot-10 190 pounds. At the plate Ziccarelli has a slightly open stance with his hands working above the shoulder with light pre pitch movement with the bat. His path works flat to slightly uphill through the zone with attendancy to cut off his swing a touch early at times. Ziccarelli worked primarily in the middle to left center part of the field with consistent hard contact and 92.7 mph max EV. Defensively, Ziccarelli is light on his feet with a clean glove and accurate throw across. We look forward to following Ziccarelli as he goes into his Sophomore season at Cactus Shadows.

+ RHP Ashton Higgins (Desert Mountain) Showed upside on the mound with a tall 6-foot-3 180 pound frame. The right hander worked short down the mound with a high ¾ slot action. Higgins worked a FB topping out at 81.7 mph which was the highest of the day, and a slow breaking ball that ranged from 61-63 mph that could land for strikes.

+ C/RHP Braeden Evjen (Barry Goldwater) Showed an intriguing right-handed swing for a 2025 graduate.
