Player of the Week: Justin Chambers
April 5, 2021
Welcome to our Arizona Player of the Week
Each week our PBR Arizona staff will choose a Player of the Week from our coverage throughout the previous week's AIA Coverage. This player will be chosen based on their performance for the given week or for particular reasons that set them apart from other players from around the state of Arizona. We will try to post our player of the week at the beginning of every week throughout the spring high school season.

2023 LHP Justin Chambers of Higley High School has been named your PBR Arizona- Player of the Week for his performance during the third week of high school competition. Ultimately, he was nominated not only for his performance in week 3 but for what he's done in the 2021 season in Arizona thus far. Chambers is committed to play at Washington State University.
As only a sophomore, Chambers is already a key piece to this Higley High School squad. He is arguably the top pitcher & hitter for the undefeated Knights who recently jumped in to our Power 25 rankings. In his last start on the hill, Chambers squared off against pro prospect, Ryan Scheifer of Campo Verde. Although there were many scouts in attendance to see Schiefer, Chambers was able to make quite the impression and will surly be added to some watch lists in the future. In the contest, he outlasted the fireballer making pretty easy work of the Coyotes lineup. Chambers threw 6 innings, giving up a run on 2 hits & 2 walks while striking out 14 batters in the evening. He also has 30K's in 17 innings pitched on the season with 3 wins. His FB reaches up to 88mph, sitting comfortably at 85-87mph. His sweeping SL can be devastating for hitters where he has the ability to create tough angles from L3/4 slot at 73-74mph. While Chambers has been known to many for his ability on the mound, he can more than contribute with the bat as well. Chambers has been hitting mostly in the 2-hole with a couple games in the leadoff position this season. He's hitting over .480 with 15 runs scored which puts him in the top-5 in the state in that category. Look for Chambers to continue to help lead this Higley squad through the 2021 season.
We congratulate Justin Chambers of Higley High School on being nominated our PBR Arizona- Player of the Week.
