Quick Hits
+ RHP/1B Collin Riff (Saguaro, 2022): Long, lanky frame listed at 6-foot-6, 185 pounds; long limbs has room for physical development. Riff was a stand-out at Sunday's showcase, where he reached an event-high 89 mph from the mound, sitting 87-88 from a high 3/4 slot. His breaking ball, 70-73 mph, featured 12/6 action and showed as his best secondary offering on this day, though he also has a changeup in his arsenal, 75-78. His fastball stays true and it allows his curveball to play off its plane, flashing sharp, downward break. Riff works fluidly down the mound, equipped with quick arm speed. His athleticism plays off the rubber, in addition to his upside as a position player. He ran a 7.26 in the 60-yard dash with long, efficient strides. From the right-handed batter's box, Riff utilizes his long levers well, and generated above-average hand speed, according to the Blast. His average hand speed mark of 25.1 mph was the second highest at the event. Riff's overall game makes him a follow to note moving forward, especially from the mound.

+ 3B/1B Landon Zaborowski (Basha, 2024): 6-foot-2, 180 pounds, physical build good base still with room to add strength. Younger brother of prospect Ryand Zaborowski, has similar features at this age with much upside. Efficient bat path with the ability to hit the ball to all fields with authority. Sets up with a wider base, strong in his legs with a small simple load and stays grounded. Turned in two solid rounds of batting practice, leaving the yard to dead left field and hit some balls deep to the middle. Defensively, Zaborowski has calm feet and hands. Approaches and fields the ball with quiet hands and feet. Threw an easy 83 mph across the diamond, ball has great 4 seam carry across the field. Zaborowski has room to improve athletically, running a 7.79 60 yard sprint. But the actions are smooth and hands and feet work gracefully.
+ 3B/RHP Michael Caruso (Desert Vista, 2023): 6-foot-1, 165 pounds wirey strength with room for continued physical development. Raw athleticism in all aspects of the game. Average width with setup at the plate, hands are pushed back initially but get back in tighter when he starts his swing. Swing is short and lets the ball get deep, path is a little cutty at times but sprays the field with line drives. Max exit velocity was 96.33 mph, max bat speed was recorded at 74.8 on Blast. Caruso profiles to be a line drive/gap to gap hitter. Good athlete on the mound, throws from a high ¾ slot. Fastball sat from 83-85 with a max velo of 86 mph, slight arm side run.
