Draft League Spotlight: Amari Bartee

Player: Amari Bartee
Position: CF/SS

School: Yavapai

The former Sandra Day O’Conner (Ariz.) prep standout has come on strong as a sophomore this season, slashing .301/.394/.537 with six homers and 28 steals in his first 41 games. Bartee has wiry athleticism to his 6-foot-2, 180-pound frame, with plenty of room to add strength. He does a good job finding the barrel with a quick right-handed bat and has started to incorporate his lower half into his swing more in ‘21. As a result, he’s making more launched contact and even showing some pop to the big parts of the field when he gets extended. Bartee’s above-average-to-plus speed in his loudest tool and allows him to be impactful both on the bases and in center field, a position that he’s taken to quickly this season after previously manning shortstop.
