Arizona 2022 Rankings Updated
September 23, 2020
As of today, The PBR Arizona- Class of 2022 Player Rankings has had its end of the summer update. Ever since the AIA season shut down early, PBR put its focus on the players, highlighting & covering as many prospects as possible in some instances in whatever ways possible. There were many question marks out there as to how this sketchy situation would affect the players in reference to recruiting as well as playing in the summer & fall. Many schools weren't able to get out on the recruiting trail for quite some time. Presently, DI schools are still shutdown from going out to recruit uncommitted players. One of PBR's areas of focus has been to highlight as many uncommitted prospects as possible through our online platform so college coaches could still recruit this class over the last several months. Over the summer, PBR Arizona finally had a chance to hold a couple of events including our 2022 Top Prospect Games as well as our Summer Review where we could identify potential prospects. Our scouting staff also spent many hours covering outside game & tournament action. From this coverage, our scouting staff was able to see many prospects who were able reap the benefits from some extra time off this spring and summer. The summer did look and feel a bit different, but some players found clever ways not just to stay in shape, but also to get stronger and hone their skills for when they eventually got back on the field.
As we transition into the fall season, PBR will once again be out in full force to see the progress players have made. We recently came out with its 2022 National Rankings with some big prospects from the state that made the list. There will be plenty of updates to this list in the future.
Not on the list or feel that you got overlooked? Look out for our Uncommitted Upperclass & Fall Underclass events that will be held in October. In addition to covering games & tournaments, these events are huge identifiers for prospects around the state of Arizona.
Orr pitches his way to NO. 2
2022 RHP Dillon Orr (Shadow Ridge)- Tennessee commit, Orr isn't a stranger to the PBR Arizona staff as he has attended a couple of events in the past including the 2019 Future Games. He was also slated to come to this years event but he had his college decision already made by the time of the event. In 2019, he showed some upside as a young right-handed pitching prospect. Orr pounded the bottom of the zone with good plane at 83-86mph, topping out at 88mph. Today, At 6-foot-3, 190-pounds, Orr has made some improvements to his body and looks noticeably leaner than he did a year ago. With his continued progression on the mound and added athleticism, he has been able to run his FB into the low 90's, sitting 86-89mph. He has also improved his consistency on his secondary stuff with high spin numbers. Orr should continue to be one of the top arms to follow in the class.
2022 RHP Dillon Orr (@baseball_shadow; @SticksSouthwest)- just getting back into live action. For missing some spots, 6Ks in 2 innings of work is pretty good. One of the top arms in ‘22 AZ class. @DillonOrr88

Jackson powers to No. 2 with strong summer
2022 OF Isaiah Jackson (Cienega)- recently committed to Arizona State. We knew Jackson before the spring from video and covering a couple of his tournament games in the past. We knew we were going to have to get a closer look. After seeing him in several games and events this summer, it was clear that Jackson is one of the top left-handed hitting prospects in the class. Jackson attended our Top Prospect Games and Future Games this past summer where he showed a smooth swing with easy pop to RF. He gets on plane early looking to elevate the baseball. His composed demeanor and barrel awareness stand out in the box. He also showed some ability to hit use the middle of the field throughout game coverage. His long athletic frame & projectable body should be a huge asset with continued progress that should only increase his power output going forward.
Stellar showing from ‘22 OF Isaiah Jackson (AZ) who was launching balls high over the right field fence routinely throughout his rounds.

Farney comes out of nowhere to pitch for Team Arizona
2022 RHP Sean Farney (Millennium)- currently uncommitted, Farney was a player that we didn't know too much about as we got closer to taking Team Arizona to GA for the PBR Future Games this year. We got a small glimpse of him during a tournament game leading up to event where he ran his FB up to 90mph. He mostly closed during the HS season but had a strong summer as starting pitcher for T-Rex baseball. We invited Farney to be apart of Team Arizona where he started in Game #1 vs PBR California. In his start, he came out pounding the bottom of the strike zone, mixing in 3 pitches that he threw for strikes. He used a simple slow-tempo delivery, throwing from an OT slow with short arm action. FB worked up to 91mph with slight downhill action. Worked in a CV at 70-72mph with early 12/6 shape. CH was thrown at 78-79mph. Over 3 innings of work, he allowed zero runs on 2 hits with 3 strikeouts. Hits strong athletic body should give him more to work with in the future.
2022 RHP Sean Farney (Millennium, AZ)- physical build with athleticism. Multi-Sport Athlete, football. Short arm action. FB sat 87-90, T91, pounded low in zone. Located CV shows some upside at 70-71mph. High follow. @FarneySean @prepbaseball @ShooterHunt pic.twitter.com/dRwoKbcsQ9
