TUSCALOOSA, AL - The Tuscaloosa Summer ID was held on Tuesday, July 9th at Northridge High School in Tuscaloosa, AL. This event was an open event hosting some talented prospects from the 2025-2029 classes in Alabama. These players went through extended pro-style workout that included batting practice using Trackman and Blast Motion, ran the 60-yard dash using Swift Performance, and much more. Pitchers were able to throw during a simulated bullpen and were able to get numbers and metrics off of our Trackman unit, such as pitch velocity, spin rate, horizontal & vertical movement & much more. There were some players who showed up and continued to build off of prior performances, but there were also some new names who jumped onto our radar with a strong showing this week.

Charlie Hamric, Hoover (AL), 2029
Positional Profile: RHP/C
Body: 5-6, 155-pounds. Shorter, compact frame. Still developing.
Delivery: Slower, controlled work down the mound.
Arm Action: RH. Lower 3/4 slot.
FB: T62, 58-62 mph. Mostly straight with natural sink. T1668, 1519 average rpm.
CB: 54-56 mph. Larger, bigger breaker, 11/5 shape. T1799, 1654 average rpm.

Jackson Carmichael, Bessemer Academy (AL), 2026
Positional Profile: RHP/2B
Body: 5-11, 150-pounds. Proportional frame with some present strength throughout.
Delivery: Controlled down the mound. Nice easy actions.
Arm Action: RH. Higher 3/4 slot.
FB: T84, 82-84 mph. Mostly straight with late life. T2003, 1961 average rpm.
CB: 70-70 mph. Late downer action, commanded the bottom half of the zone. T1900, 1790 average rpm.
SL: 73-74 mph. Showed late, tight spin,. Solid side to side action. T2271, 2222 average rpm.
CH: 76-76 mph. Late tumble into RH hitters. Very deceptive out of the hand. T1836, 1836 average rpm.

Barrett Hughey, Bibb County (AL), 2029
Positional Profile: 3B/RHP
Body: 5-8, 150-pounds. Still developing frame with some present strength.
Delivery: Up tempo, clean worker down the mound.
Arm Action: RH. OTT slot, hides the ball well.
FB: T64, 61-63 mph. Showed late sink, stayed down in the zone. T1686, 1587 average rpm.
CB: 51-55 mph. 11/5 shape, commanded down in the zone. T1567, 1411 average rpm.
CH: 55-55 mph. Mostly straight, thrown with confidence. T1049, 1049 average rpm.

Blake Jackson, American Christian Academy (AL), 2025
Positional Profile: LHP/OF
Body: 6-0, 172-pounds. Athletic build, proportional throughout.
Delivery: Worked exclusively from the stretch.
Arm Action: LH. Longer arm stroke, OTT slot.
FB: T82, 79-81 mph. Mostly straight, did show occasional "cut". T2092, 1876 average rpm.
CB: 67-69 mph. 12/6 shape, late depth. really effective when down in the zone. T2601, 2454 average rpm.
CH: 71-71 mph. Stayed down in the zone, showed tumble away from RH bitters. T1351, 1351 average rpm.
CUT: 71-71 mph. Late, sharp action, can be a weapon against both LHH and RHH.

Peyton Rackard, Hillcrest (AL), 2027
Positional Profile: SS/3B
Body: 5-11, 190-pounds. Proportional build, strong lower half.
Delivery: Short rocker step. Glides down the mound.
Arm Action: RH. Lower 3/4 slot, shorter arm stroke.
FB: T74, 72-74 mph. Late arm side action with natural sink. T2025, 1942 average rpm.
CB: 61-63 mph. Showed late down action, located well to the glove side. T2078, 2038 average rpm.
CH: 64-65 mph. Killed the spin, late tumble away from LH hitters. T1526, 1414 average rpm.

Jacob Driver, Marbury (AL), 2025
Positional Profile: RHP/1B
Body: 6-4, 215-pounds. Physical frame with plenty of present strength. Strong lower half.
Delivery: Short rocker step. Easy and clean down the mound.
Arm Action: RH. Higher 3/4 slot. Hides the ball well in the delivery.
FB: T91, 89-90 mph. Showed some late action to the arm side. T2330, 2240 average rpm.
SL: 73-76 mph. Late action with tight spin. Located well to the glove side. T2225, 2190 average rpm.
SPLT: 80-84 mph. Difficult to pick up out of the hand. Disappears late, commanded down in the zone.

Riggins Rogers, Spain Park (AL), 2028
Positional Profile: SS/2B
Body: 5-8, 150-pounds. Shorter, compact frame. Leaner build.
Delivery: Up tempo, quicker delivery.
Arm Action: RH. Lower 3/4 slot.

Ford Traweek, Tuscaloosa County (AL), 2026

Body: 6-0, 160-pounds. Proportional build with present strength.
Delivery: Hides the ball well. Clean, athletic actions down the mound.
Arm Action: RH. 3/4 slot.
FB: T86, 83-85 mph. Consistent arm side run, not afraid to pitch "in" against RH hitters. T2316, 2255 average rpm.
SL: 71-72 mph. Tightly spun breaking ball, commanded well to the glove side. T2405, 2309 average rpm.

Delivery: Stays over the mound, repeats mechanics.
Arm Action: LH. High 3/4 action.
FB: T75, 72-74 mph. Mostly straight, showed some natural sink. T1807, 1713 average rpm.
CB: 64-67 mph. 1/7 shape with tight spin. Showed a little crossfire action. T2030, 1988 average rpm.

Cameron Adkins, North River Christian (AL), 2029
Positional Profile: 1B/LHP
Body: 5-8, 135-pounds. Smaller, athletic frame.
Delivery: Controlled tempo, larger rocker step.
Arm Action: LH. High 3/4 slot, showed a little crossfire action.
FB: T67, 66-67 mph. Showed some late movement to the arm side. T2069, 1947 average rpm.
CB: 55-56 mph. 1/7 shape, can be a difficult pitch for LH hitters. T2218, 2087 average rpm.

Bennett Lightsey, American Christian Academy (AL), 2029
Positional Profile: OF/RHP
Body: 5-11, 140-pounds. Athletic frame, can easily add more size and strength.
Delivery: Worked exclusively from the stretch.

Body: 5-11, 145-pounds. Long, lean frame with plenty of room for added physical development.
Delivery: Up tempo actions, works well down the mound.
Arm Action: RH. Quick arm, higher 3/4 slot.
FB: T83, 81-83 mph. Created some downward tilt, pounded the bottom half of the zone. Showed consistent "cut". T2484, 2423 average rpm.
SL: 76-80 mph. Solid 11/5 shape, later action. Can be a swing and miss offering. T2603, 2444 average rpm.
