BAY MINETTE, AL - The Mobile Summer ID was held on Thursday, May 30th at Coastal Alabama-South CC in Bay Minette, AL. This event was an open event that consisted of prospects from the 2025-2029 classes. These players went through extended pro-style workout that included batting practice using Trackman and Blast Motion, ran the 60-yard dash using Swift Performance, and much more. Pitchers were able to throw in simulated bullpens during the workout and were able to get numbers and metrics off of our Trackman unit, such as pitch velocity, spin rate, horizontal & vertical movement & much more. There were some players who showed up and continued to build off of prior performances, but there were also some new names who jumped onto our radar with a strong showing on Thursday.

Today we continue our individual positional scouting reports by taking a look at all of the catchers at the event. Check back tomorrow as we take a look at all of the pitchers that took the mound at the event.

Camden Barnett, Tuscaloosa County High School (AL), 2025
Positional Profile: C/RHP
Body: 6-3, 168-pounds. Proportional, athletic frame.
Hit: LHH. Taller, open stance. Uphill bat path, creates carry and backspin to the pullside gap. 72.8 mph bat speed with 18 G’s of rotational acceleration.
Power: 99 max exit velocity, averaged 90.2 mph. 367’ max distance.
Arm: RH. C - 78.00 mph. Carry on throws, quick transfer from a 3/4 slot.
Defense: 2.13-2.18 pop times. Quick feet, athletic actions.

Seth Barnette, FAITH ACADEMY (AL), 2025
Positional Profile: C/OF
Body: 6-0, 165-pounds. Compact, athletic build.
Hit: RHH. Balanced, athletic stance. Hands set high in the stance. Stays inside contact with carry to the backside gap. Mostly middle of the field line drive approach. 63.2 mph bat speed with 16 G’s of rotational acceleration.
Power: 85 max exit velocity, averaged 79.5 mph. 242’ max distance.
Arm: RH. C - 70.00 mph. Quick transfer, higher 3/4 slot.
Defense: 2.12-2.17 pop times. Looseness in the hips. Natural actions behind the plate.

Aiden Gaston, Mobile Christian (AL), 2026
Positional Profile: C/RHP
Body: 5-7, 171.7-pounds. Shorter build with physicality throughout, well proportioned.
Hit: RHH. Taller, narrow stance. Slightly open. Juice to both gaps from an uphill path. Backspin and carry to the pullside gap. Also showed juice to the backside. 64.9 mph bat speed with 12 G’s of rotational acceleration.
Power: 87 max exit velocity, averaged 75.9 mph. 286’ max distance.
Arm: RH. C - 71.00 mph. Quick transfer, higher 3/4 slot.
Defense: 2.00-2.07 pop times. Flexibility in the hips. Athletic movements.

Sage Guesnard, UMS-Wright (AL), 2025
Positional Profile: C/3B
Body: 5-10, 181-pounds. Strong lower half, sturdy frame.
Hit: RHH. Crouched stance, small toe-tap trigger. Tilt in the path, the barrel stays in the hitting zone a long time. 65.5 mph bat speed with 18 G’s of rotational acceleration.
Power: 90 max exit velocity, averaged 83.4 mph. 342’ max distance.
Arm: RH. C - 71.00 mph. Higher 3/4 slot, accurate throws to the bag.

Brian Skrmetti, OCEAN SPRINGS HIGH SCHOOL (MS), 2026
Positional Profile: C/RHP
Body: 6-0, 170-pounds. Athletic frame, can add additional size/strength.
Hit: RHH. Well is gathered over the backside, narrow stance. Line drive approach from a mostly flat bat path. Can handle the barrel to both sides of the field. 62.5 mph bat speed with 10 G’s of rotational acceleration.
Power: 83 max exit velocity, averaged 74.4 mph. 206’ max distance.
Arm: RH. C - 69.00 mph. Higher 3/4 slot, longer arm stroke.
Defense: 2.19-2.29 pop times. Short, choppy feet on throws to the 2B bag. Athletic footwork.
Run: 7.69 runner in the 60.

Rylan Smith, Daphne High School (AL), 2027
Positional Profile: C/3B
Body: 6-0, 190-pounds. Well proportioned frame, shows strength throughout.
Hit: RHH. Slightly open with the feet. Small toe-tap trigger. Mostly middle of the field from a mostly flat bat path. 61.4 mph bat speed with 11 G’s of rotational acceleration.
Power: 85 max exit velocity, averaged 79 mph. 253’ max distance.
Arm: RH. C - 72.00 mph. Higher 3/4 slot, quick transfer.
Defense: 2.15-2.36 pop times. No wasted action. Clean mechanics with solid work with the mitt.
Run: 8.01 runner in the 60.

Price Stephens, Gulf Shores High School (AL), 2026
Positional Profile: C/OF
Body: 5-11, 190-pounds. Athletic build, still room to add size.
Hit: RHH. Balanced, athletic setup. Stays inside contact well. Works the middle of the field well with consistent line drives. 71.8 mph bat speed with 8 G’s of rotational acceleration.
Power: 71 max exit velocity, averaged 68.3 mph. 217’ max distance.
Arm: RH. C - 76.00 mph. OF - 88.00 mph. High 3/4 slot, longer arm stroke. C- showed a quicker arm stroke.
Defense: 2.00-2.18 pop times. Aggressive with the feet but works under control. C- looseness in the hips, solid footwork.
Run: 6.93 runner in the 60.

Christian Thompson, Alma Bryant High School (AL), 2029
Positional Profile: C/1B
Body: 6-0, 180-pounds. Athletic build, advanced frame for a young player.
Hit: RHH. Balanced, athletic setup. Small leg kick trigger. Mostly pullside approach with some carry. Also showed the ability to go to the backside gap. 65.6 mph bat speed with 12 G’s of rotational acceleration.
Power: 86 max exit velocity, averaged 82.3 mph. 287’ max distance.
Arm: RH. C - 65.00 mph. Longer stroke, high 3/4 slot.
Defense: 2.40-2.56 pop times. Clean transfer out of the glove. Will continue to progress with added development.

Aden Wilson, Robertsdale High School (AL), 2027
Positional Profile: C/SS
Body: 5-11, 185-pounds. Athletic and proportional build that can add size/strength over the next few years.
Hit: RHH. Toe tap approach on the front side, narrow taller stance. Handles the barrel to all fields showing a mostly middle of the field approach. 61.7 mph bat speed with 9 G’s of rotational acceleration.
Power: 84 max exit velocity, averaged 69.5 mph. 198’ max distance.
Arm: RH. C - 68.00 mph. Quick transfer, higher 3/4 slot.
Defense: 2.18-2.28 pop times. Natural actions with the mitt, showed looseness in the hips.
