Central Alabama Fall ID: Quick Hits

Austin Sharp
Alabama Scouting Director

PRATTVILLE, AL - The Central Alabama Fall ID was held on Sunday, October 20th at Prattville High School in Prattville, AL. This event was an open event hosting some talented prospects from the 2025-2029 classes in Alabama. These players went through extended pro-style workout that included batting practice using Trackman and Blast Motion, ran the 60-yard dash using Swift Performance, and much more. Pitchers were able to throw during a gameplay and were able to get numbers and metrics off of our Trackman unit, such as pitch velocity, spin rate, horizontal & vertical movement during simulated bullpens. There were some players who showed up and continued to build off of prior performances, but there were also some new names who jumped onto our radar with a strong showing this week.

Continuing our post-event coverage for this event, we look at some of the top performers from the event. Please continue to check back over the next week, as we will release other various event leaderboards, individual scouting reports, and much more on each player present at the event.

Jackson Burton Elahiyan RHP / Alabama Christian, AL / 2026

Uncommitted. 6-foot-2, 217-pounds. A relative unknown coming into the event, but walked away cementing himself as a name-to-know uncommitted right-hander in the 2026 class in Alabama. Thick, physical build with defined strength throughout. Features a three-pitch mix with two distinct breaking balls. Operated 86-87 mph and touched 87.9 mph and posted consistent 19-23 in. of induced vertical break, which is one of the highest metrics we've seen on a fastball with as much of velocity he possesses. Also posted spin rates 2300+ RPM, which graded out to a 90 Rise+ score when combined with the other metrics. Slider with plenty of sweeping action appeared to be the off-speed pitch with the most potential, spinning 72-75 mph with 2300 RPM avg. and -17.1 in. of horizontal break. Also showed ability to land a 69-71 mph curveball in the zone with more 11-5 shape and bite. Aggressive, intentful thrower who uses his strong build and lower-half. A bit raw with loads of intriguing capabilities on the mound. Must-follow for the spring.

Mason Piper 3B / Prattville, AL / 2025

Wallace-Dothan CC recruit. 6-foot-3, 190-pounds. Projectable, athletic build with long levers. Easily one of the top performers from the event and led nearly each statistical category in the process. Taller setup from the left side of the plate with a controlled leg kick. Features and upward path through the baseball and peppered the middle of the field with line drives during his round of BP, posting a top EV of 97.5 mph and a max estimated distance of 359 ft. Has some bat speed and quick hands. More hit tool right now with more power coming as he continues to add strength and develop into his frame, which he already has started to. Solid fundamentals on the infield with a strong arm working up to 88 mph across the infield. Also posted the top 60-yard dash from the event at 6.75. Has upside and will be one to follow throughout the JUCO level in a few years as a potential Division 1 prospect.

AJ Kramer LHP / OF / Prattville, AL / 2029

Uncommitted. 5-foot-8, 149-pounds. Lean, projectable build with obvious room for development in the coming years. Already showing advanced skills to pair it with and has started to insert himself as one of the top prospects in his young class. Two-way prospect with the pitch-ability currently standing out right now, but can hit, too. Pitches exclusively from the stretch. Flooded the zone with four pitches while sitting 82-83 mph and topping out at 83.5 mph during his bullpen. Fastball features some sink and natural arm-side run to it. Showed the ability to locate to glove-side. Appears to have elite feel for spin for his age on CB/SL combo, both ranging in the upper-60s and showing sharp horizontal break. Can also turn over the changeup well at 73-75 mph with tons of fading action to it. Switch-hitter at the plate with a better round from the right side. Shows quick hands and a repeatable swing. Certainly a big-time prospect in Alabama to get acclimated with for the next 4-5 years.

Nick Kramer C / SS / Prattville, AL / 2027

Uncommitted. 5-foot-7, 160-pounds. Solid, athletic build with some noticeable proportional strength to it. Older brother of AJ, and also stood out in multiple facets of the event. Contact-oriented, line-drive approach from the right side of the plate. Gets on-plane early with good barrel accuracy and feel for the sweet spot. Consistent firm contact to all parts of the field during his round of BP, posting a top EV of 91.5 mph. Equally impressive , if not more, behind the plate defensively, where he showcased a quick exchange and arm strength to the second-base bag. Posted pop times ranging 1.97-2.02 and a C velocity of 75 mph. Also can play the infield with a reliable glove and solid footwork and fundamentals. Stood out as one of the better recieving catchers during the bullpen portion of the event.

Troy McDonald C / 1B / Prattville, AL / 2028

Uncommitted. 6-foot-0, 172-pounds. Medium build with some present strength and more to come. One of the younger players in attendance at the event, but caught the attention of our staff during a well-rounded performance in all facets. Simple right-handed operation at the plate with good balance. Quick to contact with the barrel using a shorter swing. Routinely found the barrel during his round of BP with consistent line drives back up the middle. Extends some through contact. Primary backstop who showcased well at the position with good actions and fundamentals. Posted 2.14-2.21 pop times and a C velocity of 73 mph, which both should continue to improve. Quick transfer and feet. Also showed the ability to play some first base and moved well around the bag.
