+ LHP Jackson Sanders (Valley, 2024) has been ranked inside the top-5 in the 2024 class in Alabama since the inception of the list, and has looked to have made a sizable jump since the last viewing. Listed at 6-foot-3, 190-pounds, the Auburn recruit is a strong prospect with good athleticism and is regarded as the top southpaw in Alabama. Getting the start in an area contest and in front of a few MLB scouts, the left-hander was dominant out of the gate and overpowered the opposing lineup with a heavy mixture of fastballs while mixing in a firm slider in some later counts on occasion. Working five innings, the senior operated 90-92 mph (2200-2350 rpm) and held it throughout his outing while touching 93 mph and a handful of times and 94 mph once in the earlier innings. Sanders' 3/4 arm slot helps generate some sink and arm-side run to the fastball with good command to the arm-side against right-hander hitters. His slider was used sparingly in the outing due to the ability to overpower with the heart, but it spun 79-82 mph (2500 rpm) with tight spin and hard lateral break to it, and was located in the zone and below it for swing-and-miss in two-strike counts. He possesses the ability to repeat his delivery well and has some slight cross-fire to it with a long and loose arm action. He knows how to pitch and did a good job of moving the fastball around the zone during the outing. He finished going 5 IP, H, 0 R, 2 BB, & 14 K on 80 pitches, 53 for strikes.
