Alabama Fall Games: Quick Hits

Prep Baseball Alabama Staff

MONTEVALLO, AL - The Alabama Fall Games was held on Sunday, August 25th at the University of Montevallo in Montevallo, AL. This event was an open event hosting some talented prospects from the 2025-2029 classes in Alabama. These players went through extended pro-style workout that included batting practice using Trackman and Blast Motion, ran the 60-yard dash using Swift Performance, and much more. Pitchers were able to throw during a gameplay and were able to get numbers and metrics off of our Trackman unit, such as pitch velocity, spin rate, horizontal & vertical movement while facing live hitters in simulated innings. There were some players who showed up and continued to build off of prior performances, but there were also some new names who jumped onto our radar with a strong showing this week.

Continuing our post-event coverage for this event, we look at some of the top overall performers from the event. Please continue to check back over the next week, as we will release quick hits articles, other various event leaderboards, individual scouting reports, and much more on each player present at the event.

+ C Luke Houser (Mountain Brook, 2026) continues to do nothing but trend up, as he's impressed in multiple looks over the past year which now includes the spring, summer, and fall. A strong 6-foot-1, 200-pound backstop, Houser enjoyed one of the more well-rounded days from the event and was near the top of most statistical leaderboards. Posted a barrel-filled round of BP with deep drives to the pull-side and consistent firm contact using a strong base to hit from and a well-connected right-handed swing. Recorded the top EV of the event at 98.4 mph. Ball has some off the barrel with some glimpses of power and certainly more to come. Skilled defender from the crouch showing receiving skills and 2.05-2.18 pop times and a C velocity of 73 mph, both of which should continue to improve in the future. Earned playing time at the catcher position this past spring for Mountain Brook as a sophomore and had a strong summer, as well. Looks to be trending in the right direction heading into his junior campaign.

+ 1B/RHP Joshua Wilhide (Bob Jones, 2026) easily had the biggest day out of any prospect in attendance in terms of production, as he seemingly did everything during the workout and in gameplay. A notable two-way prospect, the junior is listed at 6-foot-0, 191-pounds with some strength and room to add. Began his day with a loud round of BP where he routinely laced firm contact to the pull-side and showing some power with a top EV of 97.4 mph in the process. Simple setup with minimal pre-pitch movement. Ball can jump off with sizable pull-side power and showed it during gameplay with a booming home run and a deep double to the LCF gap. On the mound, he operates 81-84 mph and touched 85 mph with glove-side command. Keeps hitters off-balanced with 72-75 mph slider that showed good shape and vertical drop. Has been upper-80s previously with more to come. Sizable upside on both sides of the ball and a name to follow.

+ 3B Noah Eady (Oak Mountain, 2025) is another uncommitted upperclassmen who performed at a high-level both during the workout and in gameplay. Measuring in at 5-foot-9, 189-pounds, the right-hander possesses proportional strength to build which generates easy gap-to-gap pop and power at the plate. Using a fairly low-pulse operation during BP, Eady continuously peppered the middle of the field with line drives while posting a top EV of 97.3 mph. Plenty of strength at contact with good top-hand strength to turn the barrel with intent. Carried it into gameplay, where he recorded a hard single into LF while taking quality at-bats all day long. Well-rounded athlete clocking a 7.18 60-yard dash. Started at third base for Oak Mountain every game last spring and is a quality uncommitted senior to follow.

+ C Peyton Moss (Pell City, 2025) continues to show as one of the top uncommitted backstops in the 2025 class in Alabama. Listed at 5-foot-9, 213-pounds, the senior possesses a strong, durable frame and is built like a prototypical catcher with strength. Stands out with ability on both sides of the ball, but left-handed bat continues to show as one of his better tools. High-contact, low-chase hitter with excellent feel for the barrel and quality approach. Level path to contact with whip and bat speed. Posted a top EV of 93.2 mph during his round with consistent gap-to-gap contact and hit a loud triple to deep RF during gameplay. Can defend from the crouch with above-average receiving and catch-and-throw skills, posted 2.02-2.10 pop times and a C velocity of 74 mph. Multi-year starter and top-of-the-order hitter for Pell City over the past couple of years.

+ C Trent Wilson (Scottsboro, 2025) is another quality uncommitted backstop in the 2025 class in Alabama who shouldn't be on the market for too much longer. A strongly-built 5-foot-11, 198-pounds, Wilson lived on the barrel during his round of BP with quality contact to all parts of the field while registering a top EV of 95.1 mph. The right-hander keeps the barrel in the zone for a bit while extending through contact nicely using a mostly upward path. Consistent in-game performer with the bat and is coming off a junior season where he was named to the Class 5A Area 14 All-Area team after hitting .394 this past spring. Posted 2.06-2.18 pop times and a C velocity of 73 mph. Quality name-to-know backstop in the 2025 class in Alabama.

+ 3B Braydon Kendrick (Helena, 2025) is another uncommitted senior in Alabama who has certainly proved to be name-to-know after serving as a starter for the past couple of seasons for Helena, one of the top programs in Class 6A. Measuring in at 5-foot-11, 193-pounds, the corner infielder delivered consistent contact during his round of BP while working primarily gap-to-gap within his approach. He hits off a firm back-side and utilizes a more upward path through the hitting zone to drive to the gaps while also showing some above-average bat (76.0 mph avg.) and hand (22.8 mph avg.) speed. Has also been a consistent in-game performer each time we've seen him during the spring. Also a well-rounded athlete who clocked a 6.98 60-yard dash, second-best from the event.

+ INF Olsen Howard (Decatur Heritage, 2025) is a prospect in the 2025 class in northern Alabama who continues to add to a strong track record he's built over the past six months. Both in the spring and during the summer, we've seen Howard perform at a high-level and his showing at this event was no different on Sunday. Listed at 5-foot-10, 155-pounds, the infielder is a lean, wiry prospect with athleticism that translates offensively and defensively. From the right side of the plate, Howard uses a toe-tap trigger for timing and does a good job of keeping his barrel extended through the zone to hit to all fields. Posted a top EV of 93.4 mph during gameplay and recorded a firm single to LF during gameplay. Also has a strong arm across the INF working up to 87 mph, an event-best.

+ SS Harrison Milanowski (Houston Academy, 2028) has already cemented himself into the discussion as one of the top prospects in the 2028 class in Alabama and performed at a high-level in his Prep Baseball showcase debut. Listed at 5-foot-8, 143-pounds with still plenty of physical development to come, the current freshman showed he already possesses the advanced skills and ability on both sides of the ball. From the right side, he has a balanced setup with a short, quick toe-tap trigger allowing him to be on-time. Short and quick to contact with short swing and consistent two-handed finishes. Innate feel for barrel showing line-drive approach with power coming down the road. Advanced, athletic actions at SS with reliable glove and good agility. Accurate throws across the INF working up to 83 mph. 7.06-runner. Playing as an eighth-grader last spring for Houston Academy and is a good name to get acclimated with in the freshman class.

+ SS Gregory Rauch (Montgomery Catholic, 2028) is another current freshman who did more than hold his own during Sunday's event and emerged as a quality prospect to follow over the next few years. Listed at 5-foot-10, 166-pounds, Rauch is a true switch-hitter who performed well on both sides of the plate during his round of BP, and posted a top EV of 91.1 mph in the process. He has a loose, fluid swing from both sides of the plate with a loose feel for the barrel that seemed to routinely square up the baseball during BP. Consistent pull-side gap contact while showing some lag to the barrel and stays balanced throughout the swing. Still plenty of room for physical maturity and development in the years to come, but still plenty to like offensively from both sides of the plate.

+ 1B Houston Hartsfield (Briarwood Christian, 2026) is another prospect who impressed our staff in his first Prep Baseball showcase during Sunday's event. Listed at 6-foot-2, 153-pounds, Hartsfield is a lean, projectable prospect who possesses plenty of length to his frame with good athleticism to pair with. Swings a quick left-handed bat that works clean through the zone and shows no issues hitting to the opposite field both during BP and in gameplay. Creates some leverage while hitting off of a firm back-side. Works clean around the bag at 1st base showing some athleticism and has a strong arm working up to 84 mph across to 3B. Clocked a 6.95 60-yard dash, an event-best. Hit .300 this past spring as a sophomore for Briarwood Christian. Notable junior prospect in Alabama to follow over the next year.

+ OF Evan Money (Headland, 2028) is another current freshman prospect who will be a name to follow over the next few years after a strong overall showing during Sunday's event. Measuring in at 5-foot-10, 154-pounds, Money possesses a slim, high-waisted frame with athleticism and more strength to come in the future. Smooth, athletic right-handed swing consistently delivered firm contact to the baseball, top EV of 90.6 mph. Line-drive approach with good feel for the sweet spot on the barrel. Seemingly low-effort stroke while having good control of the barrel. Roams the outfield athletically with good range and footwork. Above-average arm strength for prospect of his age touching 81 mph from the OF. Quality performance in his Prep Baseball showcase debut and will be one to follow in the coming years.

+ C Grady Patterson (Opp, 2026) really caught the attention of our stuff during his round of BP and continued to perform well throughout the rest of the day during Sunday's event. Listed at 5-foot-10, 165-pounds, Patterson is an athletic backstop who showcased a line-drive approach at the plate and seemingly found the barrel with each swing. Peppered the pull-side gap during his round with firm line drives and posted a top EV of 90.3 mph. Short, quick stride for pre-pitch timing and turns the barrel with some violence. Quality defender from the crouch posting 1.97-2.10 pop times and a C velocity of 76 mph. Accurates throws with a quick transfer. Quality uncommitted 2026 backstop.
