DAPHNE, AL - The South Alabama Games & Mobile Rising Stars ID were held on Tuesday, July 18th at Bayside Academy Sports Complex in Daphne, AL. These events consisted of some of the top prospects from the 2024-2028 classes. These players went through a pro-style workout and took batting practice using Trackman and Blast Motion to record hitting metrics. Pitchers in the South Alabama Games were able to throw in simulated outings facing hitters during gameplay and were able to get numbers and metrics off of our Trackman unit, such as pitch velocity, spin rate, horizontal & vertical movement & much more. There were some players who showed up and continued to build off of prior performances, but there were also some new names who jumped onto our radar with a strong showing on Tuesday.

Today we wrap up our coverage of the event by taking a look at all of the pitchers from the event.

Braxton Atchison, Gulf Shores (AL), 2027
Positional Profile: 2B/RHP
Body: 5-5, 120-pounds. Lean frame, can add size/strength.
Delivery: Clean delivery, repeats the action well.
Arm Action: RH. Longer arm strike, working from a high 3/4 slot.
FB: T70, 66-70 mph. Mostly straight but effective down in the zone. T1684, 1554 average rpm.
CB: 58-59 mph. Late depth with solid 12/6 action. T1719, 1639 average rpm.
CH: 64-64 mph. The pitch tumbles well into RH hitters with late fade.  T1197, 1197 average rpm.

DJ Blackwood, Daphne (AL), 2027
Positional Profile: LHP
Body: 5-6, 140-pounds. Proportional build, athletic.
Delivery: Clean delivery, athletic and easy.
Arm Action: LH. Longer arm action from a high 3/4 slot.
FB: T77, 74-76 mph. Shows some late cutting action., gets in on RH hitters.  T2089, 1859 average rpm.
CB: 63-67 mph. 12/6 action, late depth.  T2466, 2344 average rpm.
CH: 72-72 mph. Not much difference in velocity but the tumble creates swing-and-miss.  T1682, 1682 average rpm.

Jack Blanchard, Daphne  (AL), 2026
Positional Profile: OF/RHP
Body: 5-10, 145-pounds. Has added strength, longer frame.
Delivery: Works well down the mound, athletic delivery.
Arm Action: RH. Longer arm strike, high 3/4.
FB: T80, 76-79 mph. Showed late ASR, commanded the bottom half of the zone.  T2076, 1963 average rpm.
CB: 64-67 mph. Late, sharp action. Difficult for hitters to pick up.  T1896, 1713 average rpm.

Teague Broadhead, Bayside Academy  (AL), 2024
Positional Profile: RHP/3B
Body: 6-2, 205-pounds. Strong lower half, physicality throughout.
Delivery: Up tempo delivery.
Arm Action: RH. High 3/4 slot.
FB: T92, 89-91 mph. Shows late life. Big time ASR. T2253, 2047 average rpm.
SL: 77-78 mph. Late movement, ball disappears from RH hitters. Good action.  T2445, 2246 average rpm.

Sims Brown, St Paul's Episcopal  (AL), 2028
Positional Profile: C/RHP
Body: 5-5, 115-pounds. Lean, smaller frame. Proportional.
Delivery: Up tempo, athletic delivery.
Arm Action: RH. High 3/4 slot from a short arm action.
FB: T71, 70-71 mph. Showed late life and some ASR.  T2012, 1892 average rpm.
CB: 59-60 mph. 11/5 action, late action. T2108, 2088 average rpm.
CH: 60-63 mph. Major arm side tumble, easily his best pitch. Swing-and-miss potential. T1770, 1680 average rpm.

Harrison Cook, Fairhope (AL), 2025
Positional Profile: RHP/3B
Body: 6-1, 195-pounds. Strength throughout, physical build.
Delivery: Quick tempo, clean and athletic.
Arm Action: RH. Long arm action. More over-the-top-slot.
FB: T85, 81-85 mph. Hammers the bottom of the half. Late run to the arm side.  T2438, 2294 average rpm.
SL: 68-69 mph. Sharp, late action. Able to mix in any count and throw for strikes and swing-and-miss.  T2484, 2458 average rpm.
CH: 75-76 mph. Looks like the fastball out of the hand, showing late fade away from LH hitters.  T1812, 1789 average rpm.

Parker Cranmore, Daphne (AL), 2027
Positional Profile: SS/3B
Body: 5-10, 165-pounds. Compact, athletic frame.
Delivery: Up tempo, athletic delivery.
Arm Action: RH. Long arm stroke, high 3/4 slot.
FB: T81, 78-80 mph. Natural sink, able to mix to both sides of the dish.  T2389, 2123 average rpm.
CB: 67-69 mph. Late down action with solid 12/6 action.  T2594, 2358 average rpm.

Timothy Will Fitzhugh, Bayside Academy  (AL), 2027
Positional Profile: RHP/1B
Body: 5-11, 175-pounds. Proportional build, high waisted.
Delivery: Up-tempo delivery, but controlled
Arm Action: RH. Over-the-top slot.
FB: T75, 72-75 mph. Showed natural sink and late ASR. Not afraid to locate in.  T2022, 1856 average rpm.
CB: 66-69 mph. Well-shaped 11/5 action, tight spin. Consistently landed for strikes.  T2238, 2137 average rpm.

Brock Garrett, Chelsea  (AL), 2026
Positional Profile: RHP/1B
Body: 6-0, 160-pounds. Compact frame, can easily add size/strength.
Delivery: Clean actions, easy worker down the mound.
Arm Action: RH. Shorter, 3/4 slot.
FB: T79, 77-79 mph. Natural tumble, located down in the zone with some ASR. T2197, 2074 average rpm.
CB: 72-73 mph. Late 12/6 action, minimal sharp breaker. T2277, 2219 average rpm.

John Harris, Spanish Fort (AL), 2027
Positional Profile: RHP/3B
Body: 5-7, 128-pounds. Lean frame, can add size/strength.
Delivery: Worked exclusively out of the stretch.
Arm Action: RH. Mid 3/4 slot.
FB: T71, 69-71 mph. The fastball shows some late ASR from the lower 3/4 slot. T1831, 1775 average rpm.
CB: 65-66 mph. Real late action, commanded well down in the zone. can be a swing-and-miss pitch.  T1901, 1831 average rpm.
CH: 65-65 mph. Tunnels well out of the hand, has some "cutting action". T1568, 1533 average rpm.

Brady Cole Harrison, Elberta (AL), 2025
Positional Profile: OF/RHP
Body: 6-0, 165-pounds. Athletic build, proportional frame.
Delivery: Athletic,  up tempo actions.
Arm Action: RH. Shorter action from a high 3/4 slot.
FB: T84, 80-83 mph. Commanded well to the gloveside, showed late life.  T2282, 2163 average rpm.
SL: 70-73 mph. Sharp, late breaker. Thrown for a strike and as a swing-and-miss offering.  T2256, 2179 average rpm.
CH: 77-79 mph. Not as much speed differential but difficult to pick up. Same arm speed and action. Really good pitch.  T2093, 1890 average rpm.

KC Jones, Elberta  (AL), 2025
Positional Profile: OF/LHP
Body: 5-8, 140-pounds. Longer, lean frame. Plenty of room for added size/strength.
Delivery: Worked exclusively out of the stretch.
Arm Action: LH. Longer arm strike, over-the-top slot.
FB: T77, 73-77 mph. Mostly straight but showed arm side action at times. Inconsistent with command at times.  T1694, 1517 average rpm.
CB: 60-64 mph. Late depth, pounded the bottom half of the zone with the pitch. Can throw for strikes when needed.  T1662, 1579 average rpm.

Davis Kelley, Helena (AL), 2026
Positional Profile: OF/RHP
Body: 5-11, 160-pounds. High waisted, long frame. Proportional build.
Delivery: Easy-flowing delivery. Slower, controlled pace.
Arm Action: RH. Compact, high 3/4 slot.
FB: T79, 74-77 mph. Arm-side run & sink to bottom of the zone. Occasional cut to arm side. T2205, 2059 average rpm.
CB: 65-67 mph. Gradual 11-5 shape, some depth. Showed solid feel, ability to land for strikes. T1792, 1739 average rpm.
CH: 67-70 mph. Arm-side fade, turns over well. T1865, 1790 average rpm.

Bo Ladner, St. Paul's Episcopal  (AL), 2027
Positional Profile: OF/LHP
Body: 5-7, 160-pounds. Proportional, athletic build.
Delivery: Worked exclusively out of the stretch.
Arm Action: LH. Shorter arm strike, high 3/4 action.
FB: T65, 63-65 mph. Showed some cut on the pitch. Pounded the bottom half of the zone. T1477, 1410 average rpm.
CB: 55-57 mph. Showed late depth, commanded the pitch well.  T1506, 1422 average rpm.
CH: 60-60 mph. Showed deception out of the hand, thrown with confidence.  T892, 892 average rpm.

Danny Lumpkin, Bayside Academy (AL), 2028
Positional Profile: RHP/1B
Body: 6-3, 190-pounds. Long frame, high waisted. Can easily add size.
Delivery: Athletic, easy delivery.
Arm Action: RH. Lower 3/4 action.
FB: T77, 73-77 mph. Really shows advanced ASR, disappears from RH hitters. T1973, 1737 average rpm.
CB: 63-66 mph. Solid side to side action, does show some late depth. Throws in any count.  T2195, 2082 average rpm.

Harris McLeod, St. Paul's Episcopal  (AL), 2028
Positional Profile: 1B/LHP
Body: 5-8, 190-pounds. Powerful lower half, strength throughout.
Delivery: Slower tempo, clean down the mound.
Arm Action: LH. Higher 3/4 slot, longer arm strike.

CH: 68-71 mph. One of the better pitches at the event from any pitcher. Late diving action with very minimal spin. Difficult for hitters to pick up.  T1114, 947 average rpm.
