BIRMINGHAM, AL - The Alabama Rising Stars ID was held on Wednesday, June 8th at Spain Park High School in Birmingham, AL. This event consisted of prospects from the 2026 and 2027 classes. These players went through a pro-style workout and took batting practice using Trackman to record hitting metrics. Pitchers were able to throw in simulated bullpens and were able to get numbers and metrics off of our Trackman unit, such as pitch velocity, spin rate, horizontal & vertical movement & much more. There were some players who showed up and continued to build off of prior performances, but there were also some new names who jumped onto our radar with a strong showing on Wednesday.

Wrapping up our post-event coverage for this event, we take a look at each pitcher that attended last week's event.

 

Rhys Jones, Spain Park (AL), 2026
Positional Profile: SS/2B Showed a ton of "feel" on the mound. High pitchability.
Body: 5-5, 125-pounds.
Delivery: Up-tempo with a natural, athletic balance point. Works across the body a bit, repeats delivery very well.
Arm Action: RH. Clean, fairly quick arm from a mid 3/4 slot.
FB: T76.1, 73.9-76.1 mph. The pitch "jumps" out of the hand, showing some late sink.  T2092, 1943 average rpm.
SL: 62.6-64.8 mph. Late breaking pitch with 11/5 shape. Commanded well to the gloveside.  T2513, 2453 average rpm.
CH: 69.5-69.5 mph. Thrown with fastball intent, occasionally played with late arm-side action. T1499, 1427 average rpm.

Braden Martin, Lee Scott (AL), 2027
Positional Profile: LHP/OF
Body: 5-8, 130-pounds.
Delivery: Athletic at balance point, creates momentum downhill, closed shoulders. Clean mechanics.
Arm Action: LH. Shorter, quick arm slot; hides ball well in delivery.
FB: T72.8, 69.2-71.7 mph. Locates well to the gloveside and legitimate cut on the pitch.  T1881, 1788 average rpm.
CB: 54.8-57.3 mph. Confidence in the pitch, showing late 1/7 action.  T1862, 1805 average rpm.
CH: Nice feel for the pitch with solid deception out of the hand. Can be a S/M pitch.  T1391, 1391 average rpm.

Braydon Nichols, Munford (AL), 2027
Positional Profile: C/RHP
Body: 5-6, 134-pounds.
Delivery: Drop/drive type delivery, works in line to target, square finish.
Arm Action: RH. Quick arm from a mid 3/4 slot.
FB: T72.7, 71.1-72.5 mph. Seemed to have late life with some arm side run.  T1901, 1806 average rpm.
CB: 59.6-59.7 mph. 11/5 break with depth, ability to command in the zone. T1644, 1575 average rpm.
CH: 63.6-65.1 mph. Thrown with fastball intent, showing solid, late tumble.  T1268, 1257 average rpm.

Brody Lambert, Faith Academy (AL), 2026
Positional Profile: RHP/3B Impressive two-way talent that continues to progress.
Body: 5-9, 135-pounds.
Delivery: Solid lower half with clean actions, very athletic delivery.
Arm Action: RH. High 3/4 slot with a loose, long arm action.
FB: T81.1, 78.1-80.9 mph. Creates downward tilt to the lower half of the zone with occasional sink.  T2043, 1960 average rpm.
CB: 64.7-66.1 mph. Very solid 12/6 action and late depth. Very solid pitch.  T2059, 1929 average rpm.
CH: 68.8-69.9 mph. Showed solid deception and pairs well with the fastball.  T1719, 1665 average rpm.

Sawyer Pearsall, McAdory High (AL), 2026
Positional Profile: OF/RHP Solid athleticism and skills to match, nice looking '26 prospect.
Body: 5-10, 135-pounds.
Delivery: Up tempo and gets down the mound well.
Arm Action: RH. Quick arm from a high 3/4 slot.
FB: T81.9, 79.5-81.6 mph. Creates some nice tilt on the pitch, commanded well.  T2229, 2080 average rpm.
CB: 64.7-70.4 mph. 11/5 shape with late break, showed solid feel for the pitch. T2391, 2345 average rpm.

Bryce Zimmerman, Hazel Green (AL), 2026
Positional Profile: 2B/3B
Body: 5-7, 140-pounds.
Delivery: Simple, controlled delivery, strides in line to target.
Arm Action: RH. Tight arm circle with quickness from a high 3/4 slot.
FB: T70.5, 67.7-70.5 mph. Natural sink with command to the bottom half of the zone.  T1912, 1728 average rpm.
CB: 63.5-65.2 mph. Consistently buried the pitch down in the zone with solid 11/5 action.  T1881, 1739 average rpm.
CH: Solid feel for the pitch, tumble and deception into RH hitters.  T1283, 1283 average rpm.

Jackson Brown, Buckhorn (AL), 2026
Positional Profile: RHP/3B
Body: 5-11, 160-pounds.
Delivery: Smooth rhythm with easy effort, shoulders remain level, works in line, athletic, squared finish
Arm Action: RH. Long, over-the-top slot.
FB: T69.2, 67.6-69.1 mph. Slight arm-side action, spotted at the knees for strikes. T1730, 1675 average rpm.
CB: 58.4-59.9 mph. 12/6 shape, flashed feel for the zone.  T1821, 1732 average rpm.
CH: 61.7-62.5 mph. Solid deception with late tumble into RH hitters. T1509, 1353 average rpm.

Cullen Patrick, McGill-Toolen (AL), 2026
Positional Profile: 3B/RHP
Body: 5-11, 145-pounds.
Delivery: Controlled, quiet delivery, strides to target and lands square.
Arm Action: RH. Long, loose arm action into a mid 3/4 slot.
FB: T78.6, 74.4-77.8 mph. Showed command to all quadrants with arm side action. T2178, 2015 average rpm.
CB: 58.4-61.7 mph. Showed late, downer action with 11/5 shape. T1683, 1620 average rpm.

Karter Perry, Pell City (AL), 2026
Positional Profile: OF/LHP
Body: 5-8, 150-pounds.
Delivery: Slow tempo with easy effort.
Arm Action: LH. Shorter arm action into a high 3/4 slot. Hides the ball well from hitters.
FB: T66.1, 64.6-65.9 mph. Showed both "cut" and ASR at different times, late life.  T1676, 1561 average rpm.
CB: 59.0-61.1 mph. 1/7 action, gradual break with command to the bottom of the zone. T1733, 1687 average rpm.
CH: 58.0-59.6 mph. Very deceptive with sink to the arm-side.  T1244, 1179 average rpm.

Alex Gaston, Mobile Christian (AL), 2026
Positional Profile: 2B/RHP
Body: 5-5, 160-pounds. Stocky build.
Delivery: Smooth tall-and-fall delivery, works in line with home, lands square with an athletic finish
Arm Action: RH. Loose arm action, mid 3/4 slot.
FB: T75.5, 72.9-75.1 mph. Showed some cut and worked down in the zone.  T1941, 1817 average rpm.
CB: 64.0-66.9 mph. Gradual shape with late depth.  T1988, 1958 average rpm.
SL: Sweeping 11/5 action, thrown for a strike.  T2017, 2017 average rpm.
CH: Impressive looking pitch with legitimate late tumble into RH hitters.  T1506, 1506 average rpm.

Payton Wood, Spain Park (AL), 2026
Positional Profile: LHP/1B
Body: 6-0, 160-pounds. Durable frame, strength throughout.
Delivery: Slower tempo with a controlled, compact lower half.
Arm Action: LH. Mid 3/4 slot from a compact arm path on the backside.
FB: T77.3, 75.1-76.5 mph. Late action to the arm side; also showed some sink at times.  T2176, 2127 average rpm.
CB: 61.0-62.2 mph. Slider action with sharp, late bite. Can command to both sides of the plate.  T2028, 1944 average rpm.
CH: Very deceptive with sink to the arm-side.  T1629, 1629 average rpm.

Aaron Bailey, McAdory (AL), 2026
Positional Profile: 3B/SS Legitimate high end two- way talent.
Body: 6-1, 165-pounds. Well- proportioned frame.
Delivery: Quick tempo, high leg kick creates momentum, front hip leads downhill, long stride downhill, maintains direction.
Arm Action: RH. Solid mid 3/4 slot, uses the lower half very well.
FB: T82.1, 79.7-82.1 mph. Showed late action to the arm side and the pitch gets on the hitter fairly quick.  T2373, 2128 average rpm.
CB: 69.0-70.8 mph. Showed late, downer action with 11/5 shape. T2553, 2462 average rpm.
SL: Power breaking ball with fastball conviction, tighter shape, stayed around the zone. T2385, 2385 average rpm.
CH: 74.7-75.5 mph. Flashes sink to the lower half of the zone.  T1819, 1814 average rpm.

Jake Fridley, Hoover (AL), 2026
Positional Profile: C/3B
Body: 5-11, 165-pounds. Projectable frame. Plenty of room to grow.
Delivery: Simple tall/fall type delivery, high front shoulder, strides in line to target and lands square, repeats.
Arm Action: RH. Short, quick arm action from a high 3/4 slot.
FB: T80.6, 78.8-80.2 mph. Two-seam type, around the zone command to all quadrants. T2444, 2248 average rpm.
CB: 64.1-67.4 mph. Late breaker, showing solid depth with 12/6 shape. T2535, 2282 average rpm.

Joshua Wilhide, Bob Jones (AL), 2026
Positional Profile: RHP/C
Body: 5-10, 165-pounds. Athletic, physical build.
Delivery: Minimal body movement from a drop-and-drive delivery.
Arm Action: RH. Long arm action from a high 3/4 slot.
FB: T79.3, 78.0-79.2 mph. Creates some downward tilt, coupled with action to the arm-side.  T1993, 1935 average rpm.
CB: 63.4-66.3 mph. Showed sharp, late break with depth.  T1963, 1891 average rpm.
SL: 67.0-68.9 mph. Firmer breaking ball with nice side-to-side action. T1935, 1925 average rpm.
CH: 67.4-69.5 mph. Identical as the fastball out of the hand, creating deception with fading action.  T1374, 1303 average rpm.

Andrew Beaverson, Hazel Green (AL), 2026
Positional Profile: RHP/3B
Body: 5-7, 170-pounds.
Delivery: Controlled delivery. Easy and repeatable.
Arm Action: RH. Long arm swing on the back, 3/4 slot.
FB: T76.8, 74.4-76.3 mph. Showed some cut with command to the lower 1/3 of the zone.  T2116, 2045 average rpm.
CB: 64.2-69.4 mph. Tight 11/5 spin, flashing late depth.  T1984, 1932 average rpm.
CH: 68.5-68.7 mph. Solid deception with late tumble into RH hitters. T1845, 1843 average rpm.

Aiden Gaston, Mobile Christian (AL), 2026
Positional Profile: C/RHP
Body: 5-6, 170-pounds. Thick upper body, round shoulders.
Delivery: Clean delivery, works in line with home with an athletic finish.
Arm Action: RH. Shorter arm action from a mid 3/4 slot.
FB: T76.3, 74.1-75.8 mph. Showed solid action to the arm side with occasional sink.  T1792, 1709 average rpm.
CB: 59.0-61.3 mph. Solid side-to-side action on a 10/4 plane. T1928, 1820 average rpm.

Andrew Bennett, Mobile Christian (AL), 2027
Positional Profile: RHP/OF High profile arm that has a chance to be  a high end follow in years to come.
Body: 6-1, 175-pounds. Length through torso. Well-proportioned frame.
Delivery: Long, clean actions and uses the lower half well.
Arm Action: RH. Long, loose action, ball comes out easily out of the hand.
FB: T87.4, 85.4-86.7 mph. Created some sink and action to the arm side.  T2310, 2282 average rpm.
CB: 74.3-75.0 mph. Really tight spin with serious late death.  T2607, 2576 average rpm.
CH: 81.2-81.3 mph. Looks exactly like the fastball out of the hand and can be a major weapon.  T2103, 2067 average rpm.

Brodie Wilson, Faith Academy (AL), 2027
Positional Profile: RHP/1B
Body: 6-0, 175-pounds.
Delivery: Minimal body movement from a tight tall/fall delivery.
Arm Action: RH. Creates some "whip" in the arm from a mid 3/4 slot.
FB: T81.5, 79.2-80.9 mph. The pitch comes out of the hand well and shows some late sink.  T2103, 2061 average rpm.
CB: 66.5-67.4 mph. Gradual breaking, 12/6 movement. T2127, 2079 average rpm.
CH: Solid feel with late tumble. T1813, 1813 average rpm.

Wyatt Pippin, Faith Academy (AL), 2026
Positional Profile: RHP/1B
Body: 6-0, 180-pounds.
Delivery: Simple and controlled tall/fall type delivery.
Arm Action: RH. Longer arm action from a high 3/4 slot.
