ALBERTVILLE, AL - The PBRT Alabama Open wrapped up play with bracket play and some consolation games on Sunday in Albertville, AL at the state-of-the-art Sand Mountain Sports Complex, which features four artificial-turf fields. It was another picture-perfect day of baseball with great weather for the final day of play over the 15U age divisions.

Our scouts were on hand for all games played, and there were plenty of standout performances throughout the day, both at the plate and on the mound. Teams and players were well-represented throughout the southeast part of the country, making for a perfect day of baseball. Below, you will find a few of the standouts from the weekend included with video and reports from their performances.

 

+ LHP Corbin Hamric (5 Star Expos, 2025) had one of the better starts on the mound over the weekend in Albertville and really impressed our scouts. Smooth and easier operation from the left side and uses a lower-to-mid-¾ arm slot. Pounded the strike zone with the fastball early on and also flashed a sweeping slider in order to keep opposing hitters off balance. The fastball showed occasional arm side action while working in the low-80’s and worked up to 85 mph at times. The slider generated multiple swings and misses, and had great feel for the offering at 67-70 mph. Quick and dominant first inning frame by punching out the side in order. Smaller and lean frame at 5-foot-10, 140-pounds that could easily see upticks in velocity as the frame fills out and adds size.

+ SS Baylor Fields (5 Star Alabama National, 2026) is a lean and wiry 6-foot-1, 165-pound athlete that provided solid contributions to their offense all weekend long and helped lead them to a championship appearance. Hitting in the heart of their order, the rising sophomore has plenty of room to add to his frame in the future and has solid skills to build on moving forward. Taking quality at-bats all weekend, the shortstop’s most impressive swing came on a home run to the pull-side where he worked into a hitter’s count and hunted a fastball. He possesses good lag to his barrel and meets the baseball using a flatter path through the zone; has present bat speed through the zone with intriguing athleticism offensively. Skilled infielder up the middle and made all the routine plays this weekend.

+ OF/RHP Tate Farrell (Wow Factor Catalyst, 2026) had a hot start to Wow Factor’s game on Saturday as he was a quick 2-for-2 at the plate. During his first at-bat, sent a deep drive just shy of the fence in the right center gap that resulted in a double. Later, during his second at-bat, kept the approach simple and roped an RBI single back up the middle of the field. Over the weekend, he was 7-13 at the plate, had three home runs, two doubles and two singles. Farrell displays a smooth stroke from the left side of the dish with an uphill path through the zone to contact. Athletic and leaner frame at 6-foot-1, 175-pounds with room to continue to add size to the frame.

+ 1B/LHP Michael McCullough (5 Star Alabama National, 2026) is a prospect in the young rising sophomore class in AL that has made a solid impression in numerous viewings this summer. Listed at 6-foot-2, 185-pounds, McCullough has proportional strength throughout his projectable frame and possesses some intriguing two-way potential. Hitting from the left side of the plate, the rising sophomore showed power to all fields during many of his at-bats on the weekend, and was a big reason his team reached the championship game. On the final day of the tournament, he finished going 6-for-7 with a few extra base hits. He was also effective on the mound earlier in the tournament, working in the mid-to-upper-70s with his fastball.

+ 1B Josh Duggin (East Coast Sox-Tennessee, 2027) made a huge impact on the offensive side of the ball all weekend long and posted an impressive stat line while playing up with players older than him. Standing 6-foot-1, 200-pounds, the rising freshman has obvious strength throughout his build and he uses it to his advantage. He showed the ability to hit for power and for average this weekend, hitting .571 with two doubles, two home runs, and seven RBIs while not striking out once. He has present bat speed and uses his lower-half well to drive the ball gap-to-gap with consistency. Also hopped on the mound and tossed five no-hit innings.

+ 1B/RHP Wyatt Williams (Wow Factor Catalyst, 2026) enjoyed an impressive weekend at the plate hitting in the middle of the order for the eventual tournament champions. Listed at 6-foot-3, 195-pounds, the rising sophomore is hard to miss in a uniform with obvious strength to his XL frame with tons of projection to come. After impressing on the mound at the South Alabama Games last week, Williams showed two-way potential this weekend while driving bullets gap-to-gap and delivering some big hits on the weekend. The right-handed hitter creates tons of separation and is really strong at the point of contact, using his strength to his advantage to hit for power. The ball jumps off the barrel to go along with a mostly level path through the zone. Also a low-80s arm on the mound with a nasty splitter to compliment.

+ OF/RHP Jake Bumgarner (Demopolis Baseball Club, 2025) was another strong two-way prospect that jumped out on both sides this weekend. Standing 5-foot-9, 150-pounds, the rising uncommitted junior possesses solid athleticism that shows up in numerous things that he does on the baseball field. Hitting near the top of the order, Bumgarner consistently delivered firm contact to all fields throughout the tournament. He uses the whole field within his approach as a contact-type hitter and can cover a ton of ground in the outfield to go along with a strong arm. The right-hander also hopped on the mound and worked 80-82 mph with his fastball and worked deep into his outing.
