Scouting Report

6/23/21

6-foot-1, 170-pound. Projectable at the plate, Booth had an exit velocity of 87 mph. Started in a balanced tall stance and used a quick stride. Bat speed was efficient, and displayed an upward swing plane. He showed some loud contact during his round. Gap to gap approach. While in the infield, recorded position velocities up to 81 mph; has rhythmic feet, and consistent hands. Used a high ¾ slot and a quick arm action. In the 60-yard dash, he clocked a time of 7.63. Very athletic arm on the mound with easy actions. The breaking ball (74-75 mph) showed a little more slider action with tight spin and the changeup (77-78 mph) plays well off the fastball and he had no issues throwing it for a strike. The fastball was 83-85 mph and topped out at 87 mph with some late sink to it. 

6/08/21

Position: 3B/RHP

Body: 6-foot-1, 170-pound projectable  athletic frame.

Hit: (RHH) Begins in a balanced tall stance with a quick load, then uses a short stride. Above average bat speed. Gap to gap approach.

Power: 91 mph exit velocity, average 86.86 mph. 68.18 mph bat speed average. 19.74 mph hand speed average.

Defense:  (IF) Soft hands, consistent footwork.

Arm: 83 mph infield velocity. Quick arm action, high ¾ slot, consistent accuracy.

Speed: 7.37 (60-yard).

Pitching: Some effort. High ¾ arm angle, good arm speed. Consistent balance point.

FB: T87. 83-86 mph. (Max spin 2210;  Avg 2088). Consistent accuracy, slight running action.

CB: 73-81 mph. 11/5 shape. (Max spin 2294; Avg 2216).

SL: (Max spin 2217; Avg 2194).

6-foot, 170-pound sturdy frame. Recorded a 60 time of 7.97 at the event. Starts in an open stance with a controlled load, then uses a controlled stride just before his swing. Bat speed was above average, used simple swing plane and good extension on his finish. Was able to create a lot of loud contact and found multiple barrels. Pull side approach. Booth had an exit velocity of 82 mph. Above average in the infield, his position velocity was registered at 81 mph; has consistent feet, a packing clean exchange and sure consistent hands. Used an-over-the-top slot with a long arm action while showing consistent accuracy to the base.

6/16/20

6-foot, 170-pound projectable frame. In the box, the right-handed hitter clocked an exit velocity of 79 mph. Started in an athletic stance with a smooth load, then used a controlled stride just before his swing. Bat speed was quick. Barreled up multiple balls with some loud contact. Pull side approach. While in the infield, recorded position velocities up to 83 mph. Had consistent accuracy to the base with a quick arm action. Clocked a 60 time of 7.98 at the event. On the mound, threw his fastball 77-79 mph with a max of 79 mph. Curveball (65-66 mph), changeup (70-71 mph).


 

Our Preseason All State events are quickly approaching (January 16 and January 23). This event has grown into a heavily-attended event, so this year we will have two different events with one being in the northern half of the state and the other to be held in the southern part of the state.
