Future/Junior Future Games Trials Preview
June 15, 2020
June 16th is shaping up to be a beautiful day for the Future/Junior Future Games Trials at the Top Gun Baseball Field in Birmingham, Alabama. Sunny skies and temperatures in the low-to-mid 80's will make for a perfect day for baseball. There will also be no shortage of premium talent at this event, as well. There are some talented players signed up from all grad years that will be in attendance to show off their skills.
All participants at the Future Games Trials will have their performance videotaped and hosted in their player profile, along with their verified statistics and scouting reports at PrepBaseballReport.com, which is subscribed to by more than 900 colleges and pro scouts across the country. Top players will be listed accordingly in our statewide player rankings.
High-level prospects have the opportunity to be invited to the Prep Baseball Report Future Games, which features the top 2022 and 2023 prospects from our 35-plus state coverage area. Last year, more than 250 college coaches from over 130 colleges from all over the country were in attendance.
Today, we want to highlight some of the top players that have signed up for this event who you will need to keep an eye on come Tuesday. In addition to these players below, we know that there will be more talented players on the hand for the event.
Preview:
This year's event has made a significant jump from last year's event, as there are currently 94 players that are signed up this year. Last year's event featured some big time players with some who have already committed to high level D1 programs. Some standouts from the 2019 Future/Junior Future Games Trials were '21 2B/SS Michael Hopkinson (Samford commit), '21 2B/SS Gabriel Broadus, '21 OF/RHP Will Passeau, '21 OF Rashad Robinson (Memphis commit), '21 RHP Drew Druckenmiller, '22 C Brooks Bryan, '21 LHP Cole Cheatham, '22 SS/2B William Burgreen, '22 RHP/1B Thrasher Steed, and '21 RHP Parker Willingham.
It's a solid mix of position players and pitchers across the board, including some players who are signed up to do both during the workout. As previously mentioned, we know that there will be more impressive players at this event.
We are really excited about some of the position players that we will see Tuesday. Some of these include '22 OF Owen Beaverstock (St. Paul's), '23 2B Lane Griggs (Russell County), '23 SS/RHP Jaxon Milam (Russell County), and '22 SS/RHP Mason Swinney (Phil Campbell).
In addition to these position players, there should be no shortage of arms on Tuesday. Some of these arms are '22 RHP/3B Connor Ford (Hazel Green), '22 RHP/1B Kaleb Heatherly (Cullman), '22 LHP/OF Brodey Lentz (Lauderdale County), and '22 RHP/OF Austin Morris (Mortimer Jordan).
