BIRMINGHAM, AL - The Birmingham Rising Stars ID was held on Wednesday, June 21st at Spain Park HS in Birmingham, AL. This was an open event that consisted of prospects in the 2027-2028 classes. These players went through a pro-style workout and took batting practice using Trackman to record hitting metrics. Pitchers were able to throw in simulated bullpens and were able to get numbers and metrics off of our Trackman unit, such as pitch velocity, spin rate, horizontal & vertical movement & much more. There were some players who showed up and continued to build off of prior performances, but there were also some new names who jumped onto our radar with a strong showing on Wednesday.

Collin Crump, Homewood (AL), 2027
Positional Profile: C/RHP
Body: 5-8, 130-pounds. Athletic and leaner build. Proportional body that can continue to fill out.
Delivery: Clean delivery, worked from the stretch.
Arm Action: RH. Higher 3/4 arm slot.
FB: T74, 73-74 mph. Occasional cut, feel in the zone. T2053, 1953 average rpm.
CB: 63-65 mph. 12/6 action, late bite down. Sharp. T2341, 2286 average rpm.
CH: 69-71 mph. Great feel, downward action. T1711, 1683 average rpm.

Miller McClure, Vestavia Hills  (AL), 2028
Positional Profile: C/RHP
Body: 5-9, 135-pounds. Athletic and smaller frame, lean body, developing frame.
Delivery: Controlled tempo, sits into the back leg and works down the mound.
Arm Action: RH. Mid 3/4 arm action.
FB: T73, 71-73 mph. Pounds the zone, locates the ball down. T2240, 2164 average rpm.
CB: 62-63 mph. 11/5 spin, works in the zone. T2057, 2030 average rpm.
CH: 65-67 mph. Good feel for the offering when located down. Late fade. T1862, 1831 average rpm.

Brodie Bragg, Spain Park (AL), 2027
Positional Profile: LHP/OF
Body: 5-10, 150-pounds. Wiry and athletic frame, lean body that can add more size.
Delivery: Hybrid start on the mound, gets down the mound well. Long stride.
Arm Action: LH. Mid-to-high 3/4 arm slot.
FB: T73, 70-72 mph. Down in the zone, struggled with command at times. T1944, 1888 average rpm.
CB: 66-67 mph. Developing spin, late break. T1756, 1705 average rpm.
CH: 68-68 mph. Works down, late fade. T1740, 1740 average rpm.

Drew Jackson III, American Christian Academy (AL), 2028
Positional Profile: LHP/OF
Body: 5-9, 150-pounds. Proportional frame, athletic look. Leaner body with room to fill out.
Delivery: Good tempo, controlled delivery. Smooth mechanics.
Arm Action: LH. Mid-to-high 3/4 arm slot.
FB: T79, 76-78 mph. Works with plenty of arm side run. Plays down in the zone. T2408, 2286 average rpm.

Delivery: Controlled and good tempo throughout the delivery.
