BIRMINGHAM, AL - The Birmingham Open was held on Wednesday, June 21st at Spain Park HS in Birmingham, AL. This was an open event that consisted of prospects in the 2024-2026 classes. These players went through a pro-style workout and took batting practice using Trackman to record hitting metrics. Pitchers were able to throw in simulated bullpens and were able to get numbers and metrics off of our Trackman unit, such as pitch velocity, spin rate, horizontal & vertical movement & much more. There were some players who showed up and continued to build off of prior performances, but there were also some new names who jumped onto our radar with a strong showing on Wednesday.

Ryan Farr, Auburn (AL), 2026
Positional Profile: C/RHP
Body: 5-8, 140-pounds. Leaner and athletic frame, room to continue to add size.
Delivery: Controlled delivery down the mound, easy motor.
Arm Action: RH. Longer, mid 3/4 slot.
FB: T81, 80-81 mph. Occasional cut at times, works in the zone. Arm side action as well. T2147, 2115 average rpm.
CB: 69-70 mph. 11/5 shape, late bite down in the zone. T2781, 2773 average rpm.
CH: 73-75 mph. Late fading action, really good feel for the offering. Works down in the zone. T1574, 1522 average rpm.

Wes Burgess, Briarwood Christian (AL), 2025
Positional Profile: SS/2B
Body: 5-11, 145-pounds. Leaner build, wiry look. Can add more additional size to the body.
Delivery: Quicker tempo with the delivery, hybrid start on the mound.
Arm Action: RH. Lower 3/4 arm slot.
FB: T78, 76-78 mph. Late cut, pounds the zone. T2030, 1959 average rpm.
SL: 67-68 mph. Works down, sweeping action with late break. T1982, 1903 average rpm.
CH: 69-70 mph. Occasional cut, plays down. T1226, 1119 average rpm.

Dylan Lewkutz, Hewitt-Trussville (AL), 2024
Positional Profile: RHP/1B
Body: 5-11, 170-pounds. Proportional, well developed lower half. Sturdy.
Delivery: Clean delivery, smooth and controlled. Works down the mound.
Arm Action: RH. Higher OTT slot.
FB: T82, 81-81 mph. Works in to a RHH, late life offering. T2316, 2237 average rpm.
CB: 70-71 mph. 11/5 shape to the offering, misses up occasional. Solid bite. T2168, 2124 average rpm.
CH: 72-74 mph. Mimics the FB, plays down. Great feel. T1670, 1558 average rpm.

Xavier Edwards, Clay-Chalkville  (AL), 2024
Positional Profile: OF/1B
Body: 5-11, 175-pounds. Proportional and well developed frame. Athletic.
Delivery: Stars from the 3B side of the rubber, smooth and controlled.
Arm Action: LH. Mid 3/4 arm slot.
FB: T74, 72-74 mph. Struggled with command, shows some arm side action. T1696, 1570 average rpm.
CB: 63-64 mph. 1/7 shape. T1732, 1718 average rpm.

Sellers Neuendorf, Mountain Brook (AL), 2024

Body: 6-3, 165-pounds. Long limbed and leaner body, athletic and wiry. Room to fill out.

Austyn Banks, Geraldine  (AL), 2024
Positional Profile: RHP/1B
Body: 6-2, 195-pounds. Proportional build, strength throughout the frame.
Delivery: Good tempo, controlled delivery. Smooth.
Arm Action: RH. Shorter arm from mid 3/4 slot.
FB: T79, 77-78 mph. Arm side action, sinks at times. T1984, 1883 average rpm.
CB: 69-70 mph. 11/5 spin, good feel in the zone. T1865, 1720 average rpm.

Colman Gann, Priceville (AL), 2025 
Positional Profile: RHP/OF 
Body: 6-3, 180-pounds. Long frame, long limbs. Plenty of room for added size and strength. 
Delivery: Hybrid start, good tempo. Easy flowing.
Arm Action: RH. Loose arm, lower 3/4 slot.
FB: T85, 81-85 mph. Pounds the zone, late life with the pitch. T2342, 2251 average rpm.
SL: 72-75 mph. Late sweeper, stays down in the zone. T2526, 2377 average rpm.
CH: 77-80 mph. Plays down in the zone, mimics the fastball. Firm at times. T2004, 1877 average rpm.
