All State Games: Quick Hits:
The All State Games were held Sunday, September 23 at the University of Alabama for the 2020- 2022 classes. It was a legitimate event at a big time facility. Some of the top performers were:
Matthew Omohundro (2021, 3B/RHP, Northview) showed advanced feel for the game taking a solid round of BP with big time pull side pop and solid actions at 3B with good arm strength across the diamond. Confident player that played well in the game with a loud at bat in hist 1st plate appearance.
Bo Coleman (2020, 1B/OF, Vestavia Hills) very athletic player with good speed that showed a good middle approach during BP and followed that up with a triple in game play. Nice feet around the bag at 1B and consistently picked balls in the dirt.
Cameron Snypes (2021, 1B/OF, UMS-Wright) showed an advanced approach during BP with a solid middle approach while showing power to both gaps. Solidly built player that does a good job of using his strength. Had 2 singles during game play.
Trevor Horne (2021, RHP/SS, Glenwood) started the game on the mound and is very projectable with a tall lanky body that will continue to add strength. Low 80’s on the mound showing pitchability with a tight slider.
Jack Williamson (2021, RHP/SS, Winfield City) made a name for himself on the mound with his “whippy” arm action. Was low 80’s on the bump and showed a true 11/5 slider that was sharp and effective vs. RH hitters.
Mailon Reese (2020, OF/RHP, Auburn) big time athlete that had a very solid day. Made what might have been the play of the day in RF, diving and making the catch on a sinking liner. Showed off a legit arm from the OF during the morning workout with a pull approach at the plate with some juice. A very good runner.
Mason Maners (2020, 2B/OF, Vestavia Hills) another good looking athlete with good speed and a high baseball IQ. Showed solid glovework during IF drills and is also athletic enough to play in the OF. Has a middle approach at the plate and finished his day with a triple to CF showing off his speed in the process.
Tomorrow we will showcase some additional players that had impressive days as we will list the top performers in the individual events. Follow @PBR_Alabama on twitter for the latest in prep baseball in Alabama
