OUTLOOK:
The Warriors are preparing for the 2019 season with high expectations as six position starters return and four pitchers return to the mound that should give the team some pitching depth. Coach Matt Kennedy hopes to improve on last season’s state quarterfinal run and he knows that one thing the Warriors will need to improve on from last year is 2 out hitting. Several key returners dot the Warrior roster this year including 2 seniors that will need to lead the team. Greysen Robinson (2019 C/RHP) is a standout behind the plate defensively and shows nice contact at the plate while showing some pop off the bat as well. John Ross Morgan (2019 1B) is another senior that will be looked at to provide leadership to the team and is a plus defender at 1B and offensively provides power to all fields. 2020 Andrew Dutton (Birmingham Southern commit) is a MIF that has nice defensive actions with plenty of arm strength while also showing an advanced offensive approach with pull side pop from the left side. Brett Vice (2020 RHP/1B) is another junior that will be counted on by the Warriors this season. He is a big kid (6’3, 220 lbs) that shows power at the plate and a nice breaking ball on the mound. A couple of 2021’s will also be counted on heavily by the Warriors this season as well. Fisher Glasgow (IF/OF) is a very versatile player player that can help in many ways and looks to be a spark plug for the Warriors. 2021 RHP/OF Samuel Dutton is a name that most know about. The LSU commit is a big time name both in the state and country as our #2 ranked player in the state and #40 nationally in the 2021 class. The big time RHP enjoyed a ton of success in the summer of 2018 helping lead Team USA to gold in the 15U COPABE Pan American Games. A bulldog on the mound, he has stuff to match with a high 80’s/low 90’s fastball. He will also help the Warriors in the OF as well. Look for Westbrook Christian to be in the thick of 2A this year.
