After a busy summer full of events, the Class of 2025 Player Rankings was long overdue for an update as these players have just started their junior year. There were a ton of new names who entered into the fold, as well as a number of others who continue to elevate their game, warranting plenty of movement and expansion (now 140 players) to the list. Most of the same names are still inside the Top-10 from the last update, but there's some shakeup within.

On Wednesday, our staff updated the state’s present junior class formally, expanding the list to feature 140 names with plenty of movement throughout. We detailed the new top-10 extensively inside our official release, which you can find HERE. 

Today we’re highlighting some names that are new within our rankings, with detailed scout notes from our year-long coverage that consisted of showcases, tournaments, spring looks, etc. These prospects are trending upward as they begin their senior seasons and there’s a handful of them that remain uncommitted, too.

Myles Johnson OF / Madison Academy, AL / 2025 Rankings  StateRank: 37 / POS: 9 Johnson makes a big splash in this update, as he comes in at No. 37 on the list after a huge summer with the bat. Johnson, a recent Eastern Kentucky recruit, is a utility-type defender with the left-handed swing being the carrying tool for the next level. He's shown the ability to spray to all fields in past looks with a smooth stroke and some sneaky power at the plate. See his report below: "Uncommitted. 6-foot-1, 180-pounds. Medium, athletic build with projection to add strength in the future. Offense-first type prospect with good feel to hit from the left side of the plate; short path to contact and possesses a smooth stroke. Good use of hands and has shown ability to spray to all fields with some power potential packed inside. Utility defender that can play multiple positions on the diamond. Good one to follow throughout the summer in the 2025 class in AL."

Jacob Driver RHP / Marbury, AL / 2025 Rankings  StateRank: 44 / POS: 10 Driver, one of the more physical right-handed arms in the class, jumped onto the scene this summer with a standout showing at the Montgomery Open, which led to his invite to the PBR Future Games. Listed at 6-foot-3, 215-pounds, the uncommitted right-hander debuts inside the Top-50 thanks to his mid-80's fastball that registers above-average IVB metrics and solid secondary offerings. See his report from this summer below: "Uncommitted. 6-foot-3, 215-pounds. Proportional build with lots of strength to frame, especially in lower-half. Came into this event as a relative unknown compared to others, but certainly established himself as a right-hander in the 2025 class in AL to keep close tabs on. Although the outing may not have been the best in terms of the box score, he still showed an intriguing arsenal of pitches combined with solid metrics to his offerings. Driver operated his fastball in the 82-86 mph range and played up a tick, especially at the top of the zone, thanks to above average induced vertical break numbers. The right-hander drives down the mound with his delivery and collected numerous whiffs on fastballs in the zone, and mixed in a breaking ball with 11-5 depth at 70-72 mph and a late cutter in the upper-70s. Fluid mover down the slope and is an intriguing follow."

Brady Cole Harrison OF / Elberta, AL / 2025 Rankings  StateRank: 48 / POS: 12 Harrison is an exciting prospect down in the southern part of the state that was a standout at this summer's South Alabama Games, where he ranked near the top of most statistical categories. Listed at 6-foot-0, 165-pounds, the uncommitted outfielder debuts inside the Top-50 and possesses some loud tools across the board; 6.67 60 YD, 91 mph OF velo, & gap-to-gap contact at the plate. A really twitchy athlete, the right-hander is certainly one to follow. See his report from this summer below: "Uncommitted. 6-foot-0, 165-pounds. Lean & wiry frame with elite athleticism. Very strong day all-around with a quality showing during the workout and ranked near the top of most statistical categories. Still tons of room to potentially add mass; has some present twitch. Slightly-open stance works back square using a controlled toe-tap trigger; utilizes a knob-led path and turns the barrel using a strong top hand. Consistent solid contact during BP with a top EV at 89.2 mph; ran a 6.67 60 YD and was 91 mph from outfield, both of which were event-bests. Also hopped on the mound during gameplay and worked up to 84.2 mph with solid secondaries. Intriguing prospect to follow in the rising junior class in AL."

Levi Pinder SS / Glenwood , AL / 2025 Rankings  StateRank: 50 / POS: 8 Pinder emerged as a quiet winner from this summer's Top Prospect Games and comes in at No. 50 in his debut on the list. The uncommitted infielder projects to stick on the left side of the infield in the future with the carrying tools being the right-handed swing that registers upper-90 EV's. He's fairly physical with room to add in the future and possesses some above-average bat speed, as well. See his report from this summer below: "Uncommitted. 6-foot-0, 190-pounds. Pretty physical build with some proportional strength to frame. Intriguing right-handed bat that jumped out at this summer's Top Prospect Games and will be one to follow in the 2025 class in AL. Took an impressive round of BP during the event with gap-to-gap pop from the right side of the plate and registered a top EV at 97.0 mph, one of the best from the event. Tons of present barrel speed and possesses some physicality to overall offensive profile; creates tons of separation and looks to drive to pull-side. Listed as a shortstop for primary shortstop, and could easily move to third base in the future.

Colman Gann RHP / Priceville, AL / 2025 Rankings  StateRank: 62 / POS: 14 Gann makes a fairly big splash in this update at No. 62 after an impressive showing at this summer's Birmingham Open, where he flashed three pitches for strikes and good metrics on all offerings. Listed at 6-foot-3, 180-pounds, the uncommitted right-hander has worked his fastball up to 85 mph with good arm-side run to it, and can spin a low-70's (2500 rpm) slider for strikes, as well. His changeup is another quality pitch with tons of horizontal fade in the upper-70's. See his report from this summer below: "Uncommitted. 6-foot-3, 180-pounds. Lean and wiry frame with still some projection to come. Established himself as a quality uncommitted right-hander to follow in the rising junior class in AL with a strong bullpen. Showcased good feel for his three-pitch mix throughout and landed all three for strikes with good intent. Fastball operated comfortably in the low-80s and touched 85 mph a couple of times. Featured a late-biting slider ranging 74-75 mph that featured good tilt and swing-and-miss capabilities. Also featured a power changeup that worked 78-80 mph with late fade to the offering. Well-paced delivery and has a whippy and loose arm that comes out of a high ¾ arm slot."
