A Look Ahead To The 2018 MLB Draft
April 17, 2018
Yesterday we looked at some of the intriguing first round matchups for this weekend's 1A- 6A AHSAA playoffs. Today we look at some of the top 2018 Alabama prospects for June's 2018 Major League Baseball draft.
Cole Henry RHP / Florence, AL / 20186-foot-4, 215-pound, LSU signee, very projectible RHP with plus velocity right now, has been up to 96-97 during his high school season but will sit in the low 90s. His breaking ball can be an out pitch, very fluid delivery. |
Jeremiah Jackson SS / St. Luke's Episcopal, AL / 20186-foot-1, 175 pounds, signed with Mississippi State, very athletic build with great actions as a SS, can hit for power to all fields and can run (6.8 60), a complete player |
Christian MacLeod LHP / Huntsville, AL / 20186-foot-4, 215-pound, signed with Mississippi State, had a great 2017 summer and really solidified himself as one of the top arms in the state, very good 3 pitch mix with a fastball up to 91-92, curveball that shows depth and a plus changeup, very clean mechanically |
Garrett Wade LHP / Hartselle, AL / 20186-foot-2, 190 pounds, signed with Auburn, has had a dominant senior season, very athletic build with the skills to match as he doubles as Hartselle’s CF, but his future is on the mound, very clean mechanically throwing from a ¾ slot, can command multiple pitches and flashes two types of breaking balls with his mid 80s slider as his best, has been in the low 90s during his senior year |
