PBR CANADA MIZUNO PROSPECTS OF THE WEEK
British Columbia
Noah Bourgeois 1B / RHP / Salish , BC / 2023Rankings StateRank: 12 / POS: 1
Bourgeois, a 6’1 185lbs 1B/RHP for the North Delta Blue Jays has a lot of tools in his game to like on both sides of the field. The body stands out with a big, athletic left-handed bat. At the plate the swing is loaded with good leg leverage on contact. Works mostly to the pull side catching the ball out front with quality extension of his arms. In the field the hands work well out front with good footwork side to side. On the mound Bourgeois uses his long legs to have a big stride off the mound. The arm action is long and smooth with some whip to it. A good looking 2023 that projects well.

Adam Crocker OF / LHP / King's-Edgehill , NS / 2023Crocker, a 5-foot-10, 175lbs OF/LHP at King-Edgehill HS looked promising recently at the Nova Scotia New Year open. In the outfield Crocker worked with quick footwork attacking the baseball out front. The arm action was short and quick with good body actions behind his throws. At the plate the swing is relaxed with good tempo in his hands. Uses mostly upper body with the swing that was up to 88mph exit velo. On the mound the arm action was short wit good drive off the back leg. Works with a 3-pitch mix that is repeated out of the same arm slot. |
Ontario
Brodie (B.J.) Peart SS / 2B / Peoples Christian Academy, ON / 2023Peart, a 6-foot-3, 190lbs MIF for the Toronto Mets has an impressive frame that can play all over the infield. In the infield the hands are smooth, staying behind the baseball. Has good range to his right and left with his long strides getting to the ball quicker. The arm has some carry behind it with a short quick arm action. At the plate Peart stays loaded on his back leg with a quite load in his hands. Keeps his hands inside the baseball well with the ability to spray the ball to all parts of the field. Expect to see a big summer for Peart as a player that keeps taking big strides.

Jared Bendfeld SS / 2B / Vauxhall , AB / 2022Rankings StateRank: 23 / POS: 4
Bendfeld, a 5-foot-10 170lbs MIF for the Vauxhall Jets is a talented bat committed to Mineral Area College in Farmington, Missouri. In the field Bendfeld shows good range up the middle. Has a quick transfer out of the hands with a short, quick arm action across the diamond. At the plate the load is smooth and relaxed with good hand path staying inside the ball. He stays on plane with his swing and can hit the ball to all parts of the field. A good-looking infielder who is a player that can make an impact at the college level. |
Quebec
Elliot Cadieux Lanoue LHP / OF / Fadette, QC / 20242024 Cadieux-Lanoue is a 6-foot, 180lbs talented uncommitted LHP for the ABC Academie who has a lot of promise on the mound. He has taken big strides in his game with a fastball that has jumped up to 91mph from the left side. The delivery is clean and whippy, working downhill on all his pitches. Hitters will have a tough time picking up the ball as Cadieux-Lanoue hides the ball well until release. Has a solid 4-pitch mix that he can command for strikes. The curveball stands out with good vertical break that is tough for hitters to pick up. Had a strong showing last year at the PBR Future Games. Expect a lot of interest from college programs looking for a LHP that can make an impact right away.
