2024 Abbotsford Preseason ID - Players to Watch
February 16, 2024
The Prep Baseball British Columbia staff open up the 2024 showcase season with the Abbotsford Preseason ID in Abbotsford, BC on Monday, February 19th. This kicks off the spring with many more showcases on the horizon in the coming months.
Preseason ID's gives players an opportunity to showcase themselves and update their profiles/metrics/video before heading South to open up the year with Spring Training. The event also serves as an identifier and qualifier for Prep Baseball Select events such as the Future Games (2025 + 2026/2027 teams), Jr. Future Games, West Coast Games, Best of the West, and more!
We're now only a couple days out from the Abbotsford Preseason ID and the roster is filling out nicely with 35+ players already set to join us. Our staff begins to break it down below with four players to keep an eye on.

2024 Abbotsford Preseason ID - Players to Watch
Joshua Romero OF / RHP / Westview, BC / 2028Romero is one of the more intriguing 2028s on the West Coast. The 6-foot-2, 165-pound Abbotsford Cardinals product has athleticism and present twitch in the bat. He generates plenty of torque from a strong lower half and maintains balance throughout the swing. He has a swing path that allows him to elevate, and reached a max exit velocity of 87 mph at the North Vancouver Holiday Hitters in early January where he stood out despite being one of the youngest players. Although still raw, his aforementioned natural athleticism and twitchy skill set make him a must follow for years to come. |
Bode Lynch C / RHP / Thomas Haney Secondary, BC / 2027Lynch caught the eyes of many with his live arm. The 2027 shows potential as a two-way player on the mound and behind the plate. Tall body with room to fill out but can move smooth and quickly for his size. Receives the ball well, good catch and throw release, and isn’t afraid of blocking. On the mound has showcased a lively fastball and attacks the zone. Lynch will be a name to follow with the Whalley Chiefs and we’re excited to see him play all over the diamond, showing off his arm and athleticism. |
Ryder Silverton C / SS / Yale Secondary, BC / 2026Silverton is gearing up to show off his tools at Delair Park, home of the Abbotsford Cardinals. One of the more well rounded players in the 2026 class in BC, he is a stand out athlete when he is on the field. Silverton can patrol the middle of the infield with good hands and footwork, but is a marquee catcher in the league as well. Excited to see Silverton showcase his off-season gains as he continues to grow and fill out. |
Liam Hallman OF / OF / Port Moody Secondary School, BC / 2025There are few outfielders who cover the ground that Hallman does. The Langley Blaze product has everyone on notice with his defensive ability. A projected lead-off type hitter, Hallman has sneaky power to both gaps and always looks to take the extra 90 feet. Hallman loves to track down fly balls and take big cuts in the box with a competitive spirit that is tough to match. Hallman has added some size this offseason and this should transfer to his power at the plate. Hallman will be a featured athlete at this event and a name to follow heading into the spring with the Blaze. |
