6.14.17 - Drafted in the 36th round by the Pittsburgh Pirates.

6/1/17 - Auburn commit. 6-foot-6, 185-pound right-handed pitcher. Hoerter dominated in his outing like he has all spring. Still receiving draft interest. Came out working 88-91 touching 92 mph in the first inning. Pounds the bottom of the zone. Settled in at 87-89 mph, still touched 90 mph in the sixth inning. Curveball got batter as the game progressed, has 11-5 shape with depth and late breaking action, showed true swing and miss potential in game. Only two balls were hit in the air all game, consistently inducing weak ground ball contact. Worked 6.2 innings allowing just four hits, no earned runs, two walks, and struck out 14.

4/25/17 - Auburn commit. Currently ranked No. 3 in the Wisconsin Class of 2017. A solid number of teams in attendance to see Hoerter’s second start in Wisconsin this year. Had a strong performance going 8 innings allowing just four hits, two walks, and struck out nine. Recorded 14 outs on the ground and just one fly out. Athletic, repeatable delivery with good balance throughout. Works from a high ¾ arm angle, easy arm speed. Fastball sat 89-91 mph in the first two innings, 89-90 mph in the 3rd and 4th, settled in at 87-88 mph the rest of way. Curveball has 11-5 shape with depth and sharp breaking action at 76-79 mph. Uses changeup effectively against LHHs with late fading action at 78-80 mph.
2017 Super 60 - Auburn recruit. 6-foot-6, 185-pound right-handed pitcher, long-limbed, lean and athletic; has yet to fill into his highly projectable frame. Overall excellent athleticism for size. Arm is athletic, quick and clean, high-¾ slot, works with minimal effort, present arm speed. Delivery has tempo and rhythm, repeats well. Fastball sat 86-88 mph, mostly straight; should see significant velocity spike in coming years . Curveball ranged between 72-74, shows feel for pitch, consistent around the zone, 11/5 action with late bite at times, can develop into swing-and-miss offering. Throws changeup for strikes, 77-78 mph with sinking action. Overall has high-ceiling potential with current solid three-pitch feel.
6.21.16 - Auburn recruit. 6-foot-6, 185-pound right-handed pitcher, highly projectable frame, long, lean and athletic. Overall excellent athleticism for size, should become high-interest draft prospect if not next June, then in three years.
