Hitting from the left side, the 6-foot-2, 200-pound prospect used a square stance and an 84 mph bat exit velocity to drive baseballs to all fields with regularity. Wardropper stays behind the baseball well and incorporates his lower half well to create barrel whip. He displayed athletic actions at 3B with an 84 mph arm across the diamond. Wardropper went 1-for-5 in game play and displayed a fastball that topped at 81 mph in his time on the mound.

2/23/13 Wardropper turned in an excellent performance in all facets of the game that should increase his stalk dramatically. The 6-foot-2, 200-pound two-way player turned in an impressive 4.02 home-to-first time and showed well defensively. Wardropper displayed soft hands and the ability to play through the baseball on throws of 84 mph across the diamond. The left-handed hitter wraps his barrel a bit but has raw power, especially to the pull side. He showcased one of the top bat exit velocities of the event at 90 mph. Wardropper showcased command of an 82 mph fastball from a high 3/4 arm slot during his bullpen session. His 70 mph 11/5 breaking curveball was his best pitch, showing late bite and down action. Wardropper also commanded a 73 mph changeup and a 70 mph knuckle ball during a solid bullpen session.If Wardropper continues to develop look for him to continue a steady climb up the Class of 2014 rankings.
1/19/13 Wardropper showed well in all facets of the game. The 6-foot-2, 200-pound prospect ran a 7.37 60-yard dash, threw 79 mph across the infield and showcased a 77 mph bat exit velocity. Wardropper showed athletic actions, soft hands and good carry on throws across the diamond from third base. Hitting out of a square stance, Wardropper consistently squared the baseball and displayed some gap power.
