6-foot, 180-pound prospect with an athletic frame. Throws through high 3/4 arm slot. Top velocity of 86 mph with carry to his throws. Plays through the ball. Good feel for the position and glides in the outfield. At the plate, he starts in a balanced stance. Short stride. Good rhythm to his swing. Obvious quickness in his hands with slight uphill path. Top exit velocity of 93 mph. Ran a 6.88 60.
6/4/13
6-foot-0, 180-pound two-way prospect. Shows the most promise as a position player, but with size and arm strength, he still has plenty of time to make improvements on the mound. Registered a 6.7 60-yard dash. Showed long arm action through over the top slot while reaching a top velocity of 88 mph. Likely projects as a right field type at the next level. At the plate, he shows balance with a smooth load from the right side. Tendency to wrap his bat during his load, which creates some drag. Takes a level path to the ball. Off the tee, he showed an exit velocity of 93 mph. On the mound, he shows a slow tempo. Doesn’t maximize the use of his lower half and create torque. Fastball sat 77-80 mph in comparison to his arm strength from the outfield. Used a 65 mph breaking ball. Needs to learn how to carry over athleticism from the field onto the mound.
8/1/12
6-foot, 150-pound left-handed prospect with lanky, athletic build. Projects best as an outfielder at this stage, but shows potential to be a two-way player on the mound. Registered a 7.0 60-yard dash. From the outfield, he shows long arm action through a high ¾ arm slot with quick arm action. Throws have plenty of carry and registered a top velocity of 83 mph. At the plate, he hits from the right side with a wide base. Very good use of an explosive lower half. Consistently squared the ball up well with signs of pull power. Fluid rhythm to his swing. On the mound, he showed a 74-77 mph fastball. Uses a slow rhythm to his delivery. His mechanics and velocity would likely be aided by quickening his tempo and better incorporating his lower half. Curveball sits at 64-66 mph with gradual 1/7 break. Also displays a 68 mph changeup.
