At the plate setup is relaxed and balanced, has a short stride with hips opening slightly early, but keeps the bat is the hitting zone for solid contact. Has some uphill tilt in his bat and finishes at a balanced and high position.
8-16-14
BeVard stands 5-foot-10 185-pounds and is built like a power tailback. In the infield he charge the ball hard and fields in the middle of his stance. He has a quick, jerky transfer and fast release with an 80 mph arm from a low ¾ slot. He is a very athletic player, just still very raw and needs more reps to smooth out. At the plate he brings a balanced approach, knee lift and back load on the pitch, drives his hands inside the ball getting his legs and hips into the swing. The bat path is slightly inclined, great long extension with a high one handed finish. He shows power to both gaps with an exit velocity of 89 mph. He ran a 4.1 home to first time showing off his athleticism.
