7/6/14 - Geha’s combination of toughness and tools was on full display in Wichita.  Injured early in the tournament, Geha continued to catch 1-2 games a day and perform at a high level.  He’s an athletic catcher who moves well and has a strong, accurate arm.  He repeatedly puts sub-2.00’s on the bag at second base, standing out in this category more than any catcher we have seen this summer.  He also swung the bat with authority collecting a number of extra base hits.  In addition, he runs well for a catcher with home-to-1B times in the 4.40 range from the right side.

10/19/13 - Geha is an athletic 5-foot-10, 160-pound catcher with an advanced defensive skill set.  Hitting-wise the right-handed Geha has a balanced set-up with smooth load and a short stride.  He showed a short path to the ball and has a gap-to-gap approach.  His exit velocity was timed at 84 mph.  His game at-bats were very competitive.  In game one, he reached base 3 times, going 2 for 2 with a walk and stolen base. Geha excels behind the plate showing solid receiving skills throughout the game.  His throws in the defensive workout and in games were accurate with good carry.  His throws to 2B were clocked at 75 mph with a 1.98 pop time. Geha ran a 4.52 to 1B.  He’s the rare junior in high school who profiles out to be an early contributor at the college level behind the plate.

Geha showed fundamental catching mechanics during bullpen sessions, sticking the ball in all parts of the zone with a firm wrist. He also showed good instincts while blocking, smothering the baseball and keeping it in front of him. While throwing to second, he showed quick footwork with a smooth, quick exchange and a top pop time of 2.02 (75-mph). At the plate, the 5-foot-9, 150-pound Geha keeps his hands inside the ball well, at times showing an inside out swing; pushing the ball to the right side. He made consistent contact with a level swing.
