Strong solid frame at 6-foot-2, 190-pounds. Hits from a tall, narrow, slightly open set up at the plate. Smooth load back as he squares up to hitting position and slight arm bar. Level swing path with uphill finish and strength in swing. Barrelled ball well on the day. Nice rhythm. Pull side power potential. Smooth swing with bat speed. Very fast exchange and release from behind the plate. Short arm action with carry on throws. Shows excellent accuracy on throws from behind the plate. Handles pitchers well and has improved his quickness and hip control after transforming his frame.

8.4.16 - had a very solid workout for team Mid-Atlantic. Solid frame and shows some power potential at the plate. Hits from a slightly open set up. level swing path, gets slightly uphill, gap-to-gap ability. Quick exchange behind plate with one of the best pop times during event as low as 1.97. In game pop of 2.03.

6.21.16 - Solid strong frame at 6-foot-2, 210-pounds. Has a smooth laod to hitting position. Slight bar in arm with a level bat path that gets uphill at times when he wants to elevate the ball. Shows quick bat speed. Through the zone and strong hands. Stays inside the ball well. Gets out of balance at times. Shows some power potential and an exit velocity of 92 mph.  Solid receiving skills defensively with good hip control. Gets out from behind early, quick exchange, short arm action and accurate throws from behind the plate. Throws are strong at 79 mph

6.1.16 - Strong frame at 6-foot-2, 210-pounds. Ran a 7.96 60-yard dash. Hits from a balanced, slightly open set up. Quiet load and short stride. Quick bat through the zone.  Nice extension through contact. Shows power potential to whole field. Exit velo of 92 mph.  A low, slightly open set up receiving. Good sway and hip control moving on the ball. Soft hands receiving and sticks ball well. Clean exchange and sound footwork to throwing position. Short arm action throwing from a high ¾ arm angle. Throws had some carry at 76 mph. Pop times of 1.85 – 1.93.

6.30.15 - Athletic frame to build upon at 6-foot 175-pounds.  Has a short arm action with a quick and clean exchange.  Throws had some carry on them at 74 mph.  Pop time ranged from 2.08 – 2.18. Soft hands receiving that will only get better as he controls body movement.  Hits from a balanced setup.  Longer stride but has balance in swing.  Potential for more lower half involvement. Quick bat with a level path to the ball and some extension in follow through. Had a 4.81 home to first time and exit velocity was 85 mph.  Interesting 2018 to keep an eye with a solid foundation and one to watch mature.

5.6.15 - +Trent Gast-Woodard is an interesting catching prospect in 2018 class.  Good frame and shows ability.  Still work in progress.
