Right-handed hitting outfielder who displays potential in the field and at the plate. Throws 86 from the outfield with carry and accuracy. The foot speed is there, as he is a 6.7 runner with more in the tank. The bat path is flat and the hands work. Needs some strength in the body but the tools are all there. Keep an eye on this guy.
8/20/19: After putting up just a 0.45 ISO this spring, Boston College OF Chris Galland (2020) showed slightly more power than expected, slashing .287/.353/.389 for Harwich with two bombs, three doubles and a triple, but it’s almost entirely skewed to the pull side. He’s a plus-plus runner with good instincts on the bases, though his talents in swiping bags is becoming less-and-less a feature of big league ball. He could work his way into Day Two as a up-the-middle glove and speed guy with a strong spring.
8/15/18: Athletic center fielder with speed as his top tool. Smooth and light on his feet, he barely left a footprint while running a 4.23 and a 4.27 to the back of the bag. Plus-plus runner underway, but did not transfer to the game with stolen bases this summer; two-for-seven after going 28-for-31 during the spring for BC. Spray hitter. Used all fields. Minimal load and handsy swing. Wants to get out of the box quickly. Made all the plays with above average range in center field during a limited defensive look. Injured his shoulder on July 17 during a slide into third base and did not return for the remainder of the Cape season. (Seifert)
