12/7/14: 6-foot-3, 180 pound righty is committed to Evansville. Long, ¾ arm action with quick speed. Good line to the plate, finishes athletic. Fastball sat 90-91 with downhill plane. Throws two breaking balls; plus 78-81 mph slider with sharp break and kept in the zone, 83 mph 11/5 curveball. Changeup was 79-81. Potential draft next June.
10/19/13: 6-foot-2, 170 pound junior topped out at an event best 87 mph with his fastball. Showed good run on his fastball. Throws from a high ¾ slot with electric arm speed, suggesting he will see an increase in velo shortly. Erratic front side with his delivery, but still showed good command of the zone with 4 pitches. Two different breaking balls; curveball with tight rotation and depth at 71-72, and a slider that was 73-77 mph. Changeup was 73-74 with good sink action and maintained arm speed. High projectability and high follow in the 2015 class. Starts wide at the plate. Lacks a true load. Flat bat through the zone with a long swing. Shows good hand speed. Defensively, uses a long arm action at 77 mph across the INF. Hands work well and plays through the baseball. Projects more on the mound.
