04/25/17- Mississippi recruit. Currently ranked No. 12 in the Florida 2017 Class, No. 36 Overall. Currently stands at 6-foot-4, 220 pounds with a tall, strong, solid build. Relaxed at the plate with a balanced setup. In his first at-bat he crushed a ball directly over the centerfield fence that easily cleared the wall and got out in a hurry. Walked and grounded out to the shortstop twice in his three other at-bats. When he is on time and in rhythm, making contact out in front he can really square the ball up and drive it with authority. Made a couple of tough plays going back on the ball while playing first, including one into foul territory. Moves well for his size, fields the ball well, and plays solid defense. Has played third in the past and showed the ability to make the plays and the throw across the diamond.

10/16/16- Mississippi recruit. 6-foot-3, 220 pounder with a strong, athletic build. Has leaned out a little recently, showing better actions at third base. Makes good picks and holds the bag at first, but can move well laterally to his right and left for his size while also being aggressive to the ball, making the plays at third. From what he showed over the course of the weekend and the summer, he should be able to have a chance to stick at third base. At the plate, he has a confident and advanced approach with strong hands and above average bat speed. Has some pull side pop but also displays the ability to use all of the field with line drives into the right/center field gap. He has consistently shown the ability to drive balls gap to gap and hit the best pitching. There is power and it is coming along more and more.

5/21/16- Mississippi commit who stands at 6-foot-4, 220 pounds with a tall, strong, physical, and projectable body on a large frame. He is ranked 43rd in Florida and 142nd overall. He runs well for his size (7.14) and can really pick it at 1B. He has the hands and arm strength to play third but his size and footwork will likely solidify him at 1B. Fortunately, Elko possesses the bat and power to stick at 1B. He is relaxed at the plate with an upright stance. He has an easy swing with a nice plane through the zone and he drives the ball to all fields. He stays inside the ball well, gets good leverage, and the ball really jumps off his bat. He had the second highest exit velocity (off the tee) at 96 mph.

2/11/16- 6-foot-4, 220-pound Mississippi recruit has a big, strong body with a muscular lower half. Played at first base this game, but has been at third before where he has showed range and a quick first step to the ball for a player his size. Fields the ball well and can make the tougher plays. At the plate he has a high hand set and barrels it with hard, solid contact with the ability to hit the ball to all parts of the field. Bat stays in the zone. Power potential and can really drive the ball.

3/9/15 - 6-foot-3 200 pound first baseman with a lean strong body with a strong lower half, and projectable. At the plate he has a slightly open stance, low hands, a small separation and a good hand load. Stays inside the ball well with a nice swing plane. Short/quick swing and hits with authority to all fields.  Up the middle/ backside approach.  Makes plays in the field and can pick it at first.

Summer 2020:After bashing his way to a .354/.373/.667 start to the 2020 spring season, Ole Miss senior 3BTim Elkoput together an impressive summer with seven home runs, 28 RBI and a .349 batting average through 126 at-bats. At 6-foot-4, 230 pounds Elko passes the eye test with ease. He’s also a toolshed whose top tool is plus-plus raw power. His best bolt this summer was a 425’ home run with an exit velocity of 110 mph. He has struggled in the past with his inability to hit spin well enough to get to the next fastball, but did improve upon his career K rate of 25.2% to post just 25 strikeouts in 139 plate appearances (18%) this summer.
