Notre Dame Advances to Chilton Sectional Championship

With only their second hit of the game Notre Dame slipped past Mosinee 2-1 on a single up the middle by Senior Sean Green. With the win they advanced to the Chilton Sectional Championship against the winner of Freedom HS vs Denmark HS.
Mosinee seemed to be in control of the game thanks to Junior RHP Bryce Graveen. Graveen started the game shaky, hitting the first batter and then letting up a bunt single but settled down quickly striking out the next two hitters. He wouldn't let up another hit until the walk-off single by Sean Green in the 7th. Graveen's line for the day was 6 1/3 IP, 2 H, 3 K, 4 HBP, 3BB, 1 IBB.
But Graveen would not be outdone by his counter part from Notre Dame, Ty Yewman, 2015, RHP, the St. Norbert's commit went 6 2/3 innings giving up 1 ER on 5 hits, 5 BB, and a HBP. Yewman was relieved by fellow senior Davis Elm in the top of the 7th who came in and loaded the bases on a base on balls and then induced a ground ball to the second baseman to escape any damage.
In the bottom of the 7th, Graveen got the first out but ended up walking Gage Garrity, (Notre Dame HS, 2016) who stole second and got to 3rd on a wild pitch. After two walks to load the bases, Sean Green stepped up and hit a chopper up the middle that bounced off Graveen outstretched glove to score the winning run.
Notre Dame will play the winner of the Denmark vs. Freedom game at 4PM CST today.
